Red face I need your support and encouragement!!Hi

Hi everyone!
This is my first time at this web site and my first time in a forum like this, Hope I am doing this right.
My name is Monique, I am a 40 y/o mother of a 20y/o son (who is awesome) I am 4 years into a second marriage and have gained 50 plus pounds since the big day. I know that turning 40 this past year is not going to make the weight any easier to lose and so that is why I decided I was going to need some help. My husband is overweight also but doesn't seem to care as much as I do about losing it. I need a few good friends to share tips, ideas, recipes, support and encouragement with.
Thank you all in advance.
My current weight is 256 and my goal weight is 175 so I have a long road ahead of me. But I think this time I am going to look at it in terms of short term goals. so 2 pound a week or 6.5 pounds a month I feel is a good rate of weight loss. I have given myself a full year to obtain my goal weight. I am ready to do it right this time.
with your help that is ....
Thank you
Monique

Hey Monique, and

Congratulations on your wedding! Turning 40 isn't going to make your metabolism go FASTER, but we have TONS of people in that age range who've lost weight - nothing is gonna stop you but you! Have you visited our "40-somethings" area yet? Check it out!

If I may give some advice, try not to focus too much on hitting that 2 lb per week, every week goal. Sometimes, you can do EVERYTHING right, and the scale still won't cooperate. So focus on staying on plan, doing the best you possibly can, and the scale will go with you eventually.

Can't wait to hear more from you soon!

Welcome Monique,

Yes, you're doing this right - both posting on this forum and resolving to become healthier. Good job so far. I look forward to reading about the progress you're going to make.
