Default Newbie in AZ

Hi Everyone,

I'm Michele...I'm a 34yo mother of four (12, almost-9, almost-3 and 1). I live near Phoenix with my husband of 14 years and I am a photographer. I've been overweight since gaining 75 pounds with my first pregnancy though in the past few years it's really gotten out of control and I'm now teetering between "obese" and "morbidly obese" on the charts. My main reason for wanting to lose weight is to make sure I live a long life and can keep up with my children now...a secondary reason is that I have major self-confidence issues when I am working and it's physically very difficult being so heavy. I just ordered Turbo Jam after having seen the infomercial for quite a while...a little boost to help me get started.

My family eats mostly organic, unprocessed foods. We cut out HFCS, preservatives, artificial flavors and colors and hydrogenated fats in September (my main reason was to feed our children better, especially since one has a chronic illness). I have a thing for decadent desserts and rich things like Brie. I hate to exercise but plan to force myself to take walks with my youngest two in the my jogging stroller and to try the Turbo Jam videos.

Happy New Year!

Welcome! I just joined here this past week. I gained 4 "more" pounds over X-mas and thought this is it! I made a ticker and am down one pound already! If you REALLY want to get motivated, look at the before and after pix of these women. They truly are an inspiration!

Hi and welcome folks!

Butterflywishesphoto ... have you been reading in the whole foods threads?
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=209
Lots of folks here at 3FC are becoming more and more aware of the healthy aspects of eating real, nutritious foods. I'm sure you'll feel right at home.

Also, don't discount those walks with your babies. Not only are you doing a fabulous activity for you but you're also teaching them kiddies a valuable life lesson.

Thanks for that link...2+ years later! I stopped checking in here because I fell off the wagon back then!

Obviously I didn't do well after first signing up, but I'm back. I lost about 20 pounds this time last year after starting metformin, but I can't tolerate metformin any longer so I'm on my own now. So I guess this is my re-intro!! LOL I gained about 10 of it back and have ben yo-yo'ing 5-10 pounds since.
