Default Hello, new girl

Hi,

Just thought I would say hello.

Now that Christmas is done for another year, I am making yet another attempt at sorting myself out. I am planning to get married this year and I want to look good for it!

When I started university I was a healthy 9 stones (I am 5 ft 4) 6 years down the road I am a large 13.3 stones and miserable. I have held the weight at around 13 stones for over a year now which I suppose is better than that it creeping up all the time. Over the past year I have been attending the NHS's obesity clinic at my doctors but the nurse did not arrange any further appointments because 'she obviously wasn't helping me' and started offering me some scary sounding drugs instead to stop me absorbing fat or to confuse part of my brain. (I declined)

I am on a long holiday at the moment and only 2 days in I have lost a pound. This is cause work is my food nightmare. When I am at home I have plenty to do - cleaning, cooking, talking to my partner, shopping etc i don't have time to be bored or craving food. When I am at work I have 8 hours of complete boredom with nothing to do just staring at the computer screen having just completed my whole weeks work in 30 mins. So I eat to make it look like I am on a break. Then I eat some more. Then I run out of the food I brought in from home and have to go to the canteen where I have a choice from chips and burgers or chocolate and crisps. You get the picture.

Besides boredom eating at work I also have a "small" portion control problem which I am trying to work on.

So new start. I am locking my debit cards in the safe at home so I cannot take them to work to buy food. I figure I can save around £500 a year by not buying junk at work. I am going to spend more time at work job hunting. I am going to reduce my portions to human female size. I have to start exercising. I have to buy a new bathroom scale which is consistent! I am going to be a size 12 for my wedding!

I forgot to mention I am up for advise on the best ways of monitoring my weight. I have the slimmers world handbook, I have the weightwatchers books, I have the NHS's weight loss scheme and I still have not been able to get stuck into any of them . I think what put me off the weightwatchers and slimmers world was the group meetings I hated that not forgetting the cost! Think too much choice is my problem just need to keep things simple.

Also I am graduating on Feb 11th so I have a even shorter deadline to try to look good for pictures!

My goal is a 10% drop for the time being.
