Default I'm a newbie!!

Hi, y'all. I'm looking for a new support site. This one is sooooo much bigger than what I'm used to. I do feel a little lost. I guess I need to spend a few days looking to find my niche.

I've been happily married for 36 years. We have 2 children and 2 precious, most wonderful grandchildren. I want to get healthy for my family, and I so need support from those who know what it's like to struggle with this battle every day. I've always been a SAHM, and I'm a little techno-challenged. I hope I can fit in here and find my place.

Hi and thanks for the welcome. I do WW online, and I love it. I use their food log cause it's just so simple. I don't go to meetings cause I'm homebound, and my computer is my link to the outside world!!

I'm working on an exercise program. I just hate exercising - literally hate it! I'm having real trouble with motivation. I've just recently come off some meds because they slowed my metabolism so much that I gained a lb on 1500 cal/day. Eating too much, or generally eating the wrong things is not one of my problems. MOVING is my problem.

Do you exercise? What kind of program do you use?

CraftyOne - Hi and

I used to be an exercise-hater. I had some depression issues, and gathering the motivation to get out there and get moving was SO hard. But...once I got into the habit, it was just the opposite...now NOT exercising is really hard for me! Right now I'm sick, and its just killing me to take a break.

Maybe you can commit to 3 weeks of exercise. Not forever, just...three weeks of doing something every day. Once those 3 weeks are up, you've got yourself a habit and it'll be SO much easier to keep doing it. Just commit to three weeks. If that is overwhelming - just commit to TODAY, and tomorrow, do the same. You'll be established in a plan in no time flat.

Keep posting. Can't wait to hear more from you soon!

Thanks, y'all! I did find the over 50s, and I'm loving it!! This board is so big is scary, but when it's broken down into so many subgroups, well, I think it's just great.

Mandalinn - commit, huh? OK. It's reasonable and probably what I need. 3 weeks sounds too long, so I will commit to one day at a time. I always watch the 11:00am local news, and I do have a tv by the treadmill. So I'll commit to 30 min or 1 mile a day during that news program. Thanks for the suggestion (translate that to "kick in the heinya")! I needed that!!

Slim Me and Shy - thanks so much for the welcome! It means a lot to me!!
