I just started Oct 31st. I am down 7.8 lbs. I have been reading this religiously every day since I started it definately has a lot of info. It's nice to be able to read about all the things that others go through and know that I am not alone. I don't want to sound like an Alcoholic but the hardest part for me is not being able to drink! Ugh!

Hey Cecil,

It is a little hard to give up drinking at social events. Unfortunately, for many people, alcohol is a complete weight loss staller, so giving it up may be necessary. I promise that you DO get used to it, though, and soon you'll be celebrating alcohol-free and still having a blast, or possibly having a drink or two on special occasions and really enjoying it.

Amen...... i am having the same issues with the alcohol....as they say, take it one day at a time. I feel better without the alcohol because i like to drink beer and that made me very lazy, so i miss the taste but thats it. I started LA Weight loss for both reasons, to quit drinking and to loose the weight. You could still eat if you went to rehab ...i figured after spending 600+ dollars that i don't have since X-mas is upon us that would be motivation enough....i'd feel really guilty if at Christmas i was down 0lbs and the kids could not get everything they asked for. But, i'm down 13lbs and counting and the money i spent on alcohol before joining LAWL pays for it so, is a win, win situation.

Hay guys thanks for the support. This weekend will be the test for me since last weekend I had stuff going on that didn't require being tempted. I went to WI today and I am down .4 so total that is 8.2. Awesome soooo excited! Whoo hoo!
