I can't be this weight anymore! New here:)

  • This has got to stop….the insanity with my weight that is. I’ll introduce myself and hopefully become a regular here.

I am a 30 year old female with a teenage daughter and husband. I currently weigh 208# and am very very unhappy with not only the way I look but also the way I’ve been feeling…both physically and mentally. I am one of those women who spent most of her early years stick thin with absolutely no effort. I guess I was blessed with a super fast metabolism. I ate junk food, rarely “exercised” although I was very active and never gained a pound. I was about 110 in high school (actually too thin looking back…I’m not aiming for that again!). Now I just feel bad about myself in every way…the way I look, the way I feel, the way other people look at me. My husband has been great, supporting me the way I am, but I need to change for me!

A coworker recently lost about 40 pounds over 6 months by counting calories and exercising. She has inspired me to do the same. My game plan is:
    1. Eat 1500 calories a day
    2. Log all my meals and exercise time.
    3. Exercise at least 20 minutes daily – probably walking at this time
    4. Make healthy food choices – no more fast food!

I hope I can post here to get support and just keep track of where I’ve been and how things are going. I’ve been lurking and reading here for awhile and finally have reached a point where I am ready to join
  • Welcome! I count calories as well. I use Fitday to log everything - the online software is free (although, I did buy the PC version because I am a data junkie - LOL)

Our starting weight and goal weight are the same (but I am shorter than you are). I think you will find that 3FC is a great place to find inspiration, guidance, information and an occasional prod when you need one.
Hope to see you on some of the chat threads
  • I think your plan sounds just right. I am a calorie counter, too and like you I was not a fat child but became overweight as an adult and at my highest weight was 206,Good luck .Y0u can do it!
  • Hello and Welcome!! Good Luck with your weight loss! you can do it!!

  • Your plan is a good one - that's pretty much what I did. Check out Fitday and The Daily Plate for great places to log your food and exercise for free. I use Fitday - it's a little annoying at first...but after you get your regular stuff entered in, it's a snap. I do SO much better when I log EVERYTHING. Even better when I log ahead of time and stick to it.

Oh and lookee that, we're neighbors!! I'm on Planet Earth, too!

Come join us in the Calorie Counters forum!

  • Great plan! You know what you're going to do, so the only advice I have for you is get moving on it and keep posting.

I can't wait to hear more from you soon!
  • Best of luck!
