Wink 1 Fat chick in NH

Hello- I am so happy to have found this website. Aaaah yes, people who suffer from weight loss highs and lows. Nice.

I was a very small child until the day I started my period (12). I swear it changed my body forever! I was more able to control my weight in my twenties but now in my thirties, well it's more than hard, it's a downright struggle every day.

I began a LC diet about four weeks ago and have felt terrific. Although the scale doesn't like me and won't budge more than but a few pounds, my clothes feel loose and I feel more energy. BUT... i've had a slip up. I had some very stressful times at work and found myself enjoying pizza again. It started with that and then ended with some Hostess Cupcakes. Hopefully I have control of it again. Food for me is an enemy. It loves to hate me!

Thanks for listening to me gripe. Again, i'm glad i'm here.

Hey Deb, welcome, I too just joined! Well its really great that you have been able to stick to a LC diet!

It helps to think of your quest as a life style change rather than a diet. In the grand scheme of things, what's one day or one week of splurging? Just a blip if you count the rest of the days that you followed your healthier lifestyle. Don't let it get you down. Thinking of it this way is helping me.

I've "dieted" since I was in 2nd grade and it just never got me anywhere but higher up on the scale. Now that I think of it as my slow life style change to a healthier me- its so much easier on my body and mind and spirit! Good luck, and remember- if you tell a 2 year old "NO! Don't do that!"- guess what, he's gonna do it! We are no different. I have finally stopped telling my self "I can't have chocolate cake" and started telling myself "I can have it if I want it, but do I really want it now or later?" And most of the time I choose not to have it. It helps because #1 I don't feel deprived and on "lock down" and #2 I don't end up binging and then feeling bad about it.

Please don't feel bad about your pizza and hostess. I just ate Burger King for lunch because I ran out of Lean Cuisines at work but its okay because I normally eat those Lean Cuisines for lunch and this was my blip.

Hi & to both of you!

Debnh - We all have slip-ups. It's okay! Don't sweat it, get right back on track and you'll be fine

LilxLuckyStar - Looks like you have some healthy ideas. It IS for the rest of our lives ^^

Best of luck to both of you! You CAN make it!

Hi, Debnh. Welcome!

I just joined, too, and can completely relate to your food struggle. Pizza and Hostess Cupcakes - that's a hard combo to resist. But we're stronger than that! I decided yesterday - after a particularly huge binge - that I'm tired of letting food control me and making me unhappy. I signed up for 3FC last night, and so far on Day 1, things are going okay. Putting me one day closer to my goal.

I know you can do it, too! Are you following a particular diet or plan?
