Default Newbie with a lot to lose!

I've lurked for a while and am ready to post. I love this kind of sites but often struggle getting started but I like the idea of something that focuses on weightloss.

So here's my story, I'm at my highest weight ever and working as hard as I can to get rid of it. I've had a lot of failures recently... I don't mean your standard failures where I fall off plan or don't do what I'm supposed to but I mean the type of failures where I'm doing everything and the weight doesn't come off.

I got put on a new med for my diabetes and this has actually helped with my weightloss. I've had a lot of struggles with this and I'm scared to jump in because I feel I've been disappointed so often.

DO NOT GIVE UP! You CAN do this. It's not about the little bumps in the road, it's about getting back up after they happen!

What sort of plan are you working with? Do you count calories? Let us know, maybe we can give you some tips.

What's scarier? Knowing there's a possibility you might fail or knowing you have failed if you don't try at all?

Again, you CAN do this. Make your health your TOP priority. If you've been lurking for awhile then you know there's almost nothing we all like more than supporting everyone else!

!!!! And the best of luck to you!

Oh I'm not giving up, I really can't afford to do that, my health deterieted a lot recentlly and I believe much of it is linked with my weight. I have two young kids who I want to be around for and I don't just mean here but to be able to be active for... example Trick -or- Treating last night, I could walk a few blocks (which was ok with my 4 and 2 year old ) but much more I'd have been doing really badly I want things like that to be normal for me.

Anyways I'm following South Beach for now. I debated Medifast as a friend of friends emailed me with info about it. (He I guess expressed concern about me to her, which says something if my friends are worried ) so I'm not sure... I like the idea of medifast because of the quick results.

Smile Welcome!

Thanks for joining us. You will soon feel like this place is like your favorite pair of pjs---"loose", soft to the touch and comfortable.

I am sorry to hear about what happened in the past but the past is past!

All we have is today so having said that, let's celebrate today and having a good day today. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

My Mom is diabetic and I am very proud of how she had used medication and diet to control her diabetes. She has lost weight and at age 73 she bought her first two piece swim suit. I got red-faced just imagining "Granny" at the pool side. I didn't know she had it in her!

Welcome again, and here's to future weight loses and friends gained.

Hi - I'm new too - gained weight due to relationship stress. Me and the guy broke up a couple of weeks ago and I am so ready to get down to a comfy size...
