Hello to all the ladies (and a few gents out there too)

My name is Kim and I have been a VERY bad girl. You see, I have been lurking here on 3FC for some time....about 6 months to be exact!. I don't think I have made more than a post or two in that time and certainly haven't introduced myself. (edited to add....no posts)

My name is Kim, I am 25, engaged to J and live here in the UK with our 3 cats. Currently unemplyed Science grad though I do volunteer work with the Girl Guides.

When I am not playing with either the Guides or the cats I am mostly found doing one of many crafts (minis ,cross stitch, scrapbooking, sewing etc)

I started to gain weight when I left home and went to uni going from 130ish in Sept 2001 to a height of 190 around my 25th birthday this year (april). It was shortly before this that I discovered PastaQueens blog which I would say was my inspiration. If she can loose her extra 200 I can shift this 60.

April 20th I weighed 190, and 22 weeks later I weigh 170, just under a pound a week. That includes the little dip from the bad food at Guide camp. That is one third of my target loss gone. I am setting a target of another 10 by christmas taking me into the new year (few weeks maintain) at half way.

This has been acomplished so far without exercise, I know that at some point I will plateau and will have to add it but so far I haven't found quite that much motivation. I would call myself a calorie counter, I am a scientist and the numbers don't scare me, though I am not currently keeping a daily food log. I did for a while, which was ok but I am doing ok without, if I get stuck I will return to that.

Clothes wise I started at (UK sizes) 18 on top and 20 bottom.
I am now in 16 top and 18 bottoms which are loose. I don't have much money for clothes so most of what I have is from the supermarkets (Asda jeans £3) though I am wearing my only fancy jeans right now and they are an etam 18 which are hanging low on the hip.

I have attached some pics, the first being from April 06 in my Guide uniform and I am probably about 185, the second from today and I'm 170

Good for you. I have beeb battling my weight for a while (or I shoud lsay battling myself) For some unknown gift of reason..I am strong now. Have lost a bit more weight and hope to knock off 1 to 2 lbs a week by eating low carb and starting to doa bit of walking. I will try to figure out how to check in with your progress. (Still new to this all.) I am at 235 (having lost 17 lbs and have about 85 more to go. ) Best of luck,
