My fat loves me

  • OK.. I'm posting here to introduce myself as a failed dieter. I need to psychologically change my mindset or this losing weight thing isnt going to work. I have a VERY slow metabolism, which causes me to give up. I was on Nutrisystem "religiously" for a month and didn't lose an ounce. It made me depressed, so I quit altogether. So now I've been eating cuz I figure.. eating different isnt going to make my weight leave..so why try? The factor that is going to push me to eat better..though is FEELING BETTER If it takes me 10 years to lose weight..then fine.. I need a new motivator - eat better = feel better = I win = kids win... if I lose lbs along the way..then HUGE BONUS.. but not a motivator *sigh*.. My doctor once told me that I had such an efficient metabolism, that if I were stranded on a dessert island with a group of 10 people, I would be the last one living.. LUCKY ME!! I'm a past weight watchers lifetime member (back in high school) but I starved it off.. is probably why my metabolism is asleep now.

  • Hi to you!!! I'm another failed dieter and I know, the yoyo dieting has really wrecked havoc on my ability to lose weight (slow) and gain (quick)

    Honestly I am really feeling different about dieting these days -- more patient, less frantic, and part of it is that I'm actually enjoying the diet I'm on (Sonoma.) I do look forward to the meals, I feel better when I'm on it, I'm a happy camper, even though it's slow goin'.

    Visit our little Sonoma group here if you like. I got the book last week on half.com for $3 and am finding it inspirational.

    btw, are you exercising? That can kind of rev up a slow metabolism.....
  • I used to feel like a failed dieter. Now I don't diet. Gave it up on January 10,2007. I will never diet again. I eat my own thing. Lots of vegetables, fruit, high fiber, low fat dairy, good for me protein such as wild salmon. I don't eat anything I don't like because I know I won't stick to those plans with packaged foods. Been there tried it all. Try to rev up that metabolism with small spurts of exercise and healthy food every few hours it couldn't hurt right.
  • Thank you for the replies!! Sharonrr1 - I agree with you there.. why force yourself to eat foods that you aren't that crazy about.. I actually love salad..and vegetables.. it's just the cooking part that I hate..lol Thanks again ladies .. and I will be checking back often
