HI From NC
Well as i wake up this morning after having been on a 1500 calorie or less diet for a month and have only lost 2 lbs, I am beginning to get VERY depressed! I am 51 yrs old and in the pangs of menopause which is in itself something to be reckoned with! I know if I would walk everyday, I would probably lose faster, but I have no one to walk with(poor excuse) and havent been able to make myself do it.Im separated (a good thang) and cant find a job and was wondering if there was anyone else out there that wanted to join my pity party today??? :-) I am just sick and tired of being sick and tired!
WOW someone kick my butt for me pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee!!! lol |
Hi, I am in N.C. too. I could give you a list of things that is bad in my life: unemployment, no car for me, ect.. But that is not going to make any change to my body or health. It is not an easy thing to do, believe me I know, but I look at it this way, what other option do I have. I hate the way I look, I hate not being able to buy "normal " clothes, I hate how my body feels when I am too heavy, I hate not having no energy, I hate that I don't look sexy, I hate that my kids are made to feel bad at school because of my weight.
So I think these are good reasons to do this. What are your good reasons? I eat less than 1700 calories a day in food, no junk food, fried food, pizza, and exercise, and believe me you can exercise, it may be hard at first, but take baby steps, then before you know it you can do 30 minutes a day. Soon you will feel better, the pounds will come off slowly and you will be in the best shape of your life. N.C. is a beautiful state, you guys have mountains to go walking in, beaches, lakes, so just try going someplace and walking. I know you can do it. :hug:Cheryl |
Hello and welcome! You have gotten off to a great start so let me encourage you to focus on the positive and things you have been doing right! I agree though that you do need to start getting in some form of exercise, and walking is a good place to start. I have no one to walk with either, but I do it almost every day on my breaks and lunch hour at work. Often I don't WANT to get out there and do it... it's a matter of committment and determination that I am going to do it no matter how I feel about it. :) And always when I get BACK I am so glad I did it!
We do have a butt kick icon here  :kickbutt:  but really we do try not to use it too often, especially on newbies. :) Sooooooo hang in there. Nope, sorry I won't join any pity parties... they are too hard for me to avoid all on my own! I hope you will join us here often, as there is lots of positive reinforcement and encouragement around! |
THANK YOU so much for my "butt kick" !!! I needed it! :-)

 Oh no, no, no I wasn't giving you the butt kick... just letting you know what could happen around here! :) Seriously though, we ALL feel discouraged and negative at times and it is good to have a place where we can share those feelings and admit them, and then move on and get our butts going again! You will do fine! Just hang in there and stick around HERE! :rain: in Seattle |
you can do it:hug: just dont give up take it all one day at a time:)
