Default Anyone doing Carbohydrate Addicts diet??

Hi - I am new here. Thought I posted last week, but can not find it! DER! Anyway, I am 3 days on Carbohydrate Addicts diet. I am craving free today - a VERY rare occurrance for me!!

But I have been here before and all the while knowing that it was the calm amidst the storm, the brief lul in a raging battle I have fought for 40 years... and that it will happen again, the cravings will start slowly at first so you don't really notice, until WHAM, I am eating constantly and have no peace and there is nothing I can do to stop it! I am scared to death that this will be just another rosy path full of intial hope and dreams, only to be dashed once again by disappointment and failure.

It has been so bad for me that I have literally wished I could be locked up like a herione addict in a padded cell and allowed to scream until it was over. Unless you have been there, I think there is no way to really understand. But from what I read in the Carbohydrates Diet, I am not alone. In fact, many people fighting the weight battle experience the same type of problem with carbohydrates. In addition, just following low carb is not enough.

Anyway, so far so good...but I have a long way to go and the weekend to get though! AHHHHH!!

I would like to talk with others on this diet if you are out there.

Thanks, Elysa

Thanks Ruth!

I did look before but did not see any specific CA chats, but I will look again!

A question about the board: Why do my suscribed threads not appear under user cp? I am pretty familiar with vBulletin and usercp is where I ususally find the replies to threads I have posted or activity on threads I have participated in.

Thanks,

Elysa

I have read a lot about the adkins diet because I thought it would be a good way to lose weight.
I have decided that I needed to modify that diet and so I have cut way back on carbs but the carbs I do eat are only whole wheat products.
whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread, brown rice, whole wheat tortillas and I use salsa and spices for flavor.
I also eat fruit in the morning and eat lots of salad and raw vegies, and steamed vegies, and quit eating gravy. this way of eating is healthier and you can just do it as a new way of life and don't think of it as dieting.
This works for me. so I can have a steak with lots of vegies and a half cup of brown rice with soy sauce and no bread (that is an example of a dinner I will have) I don't eat sugar stuff like cake, candy, cookies, and all that and I have quit eating chips and all that junk but maybe have some rye crisp. I will still go out to eat sometimes and just eat what I want to as long as I go back to my way of eating for all the other meals.

Default New to Carbohydrate Addicts Diet - seeking help

Hello!
I've recently started on the Carbohydrate Addicts' diet, and I'm also
surprised a forum this big doesn't have many other people on it.
(I have the new version of the book, with 2 c salad before the
carb meal and mandatory balance of protein and veg with the carbs.)
Anyway, I'm having trouble and wondering if any of you who've done
it longer could help.

This is my first morning of having a low-carb breakfast after
a high-carb dinner, and I feel MISERABLE. I woke up energetic and
feeling great, and then had string beans and cheese for breakfast
and I feel like somebody needs to scrape me up off the pavement.
Definitely low-blood-sugar, as if my body mistakenly released insulin
in response to the meal.
When the carb-addict diet worked for you, did it take time before
your body learned to expect which meal would have carbs?
Did you go through this and then it went away, or did your
body not react this way?

Looking for help,
Lisa
