have you lost weight and lowered your blood pressure?
Finally a good motivation to lose weight. But how likely is it to lower blood pressure with weight loss alone? is it a genetic thing that will force me to take meds anyway?? anyone out there with experience with this? i will find out if its working in 2 weeks when i see the dr. again.......
I was never on blood pressure meds but before I lost weight, my pressure was usually around 121/86....I remember it being 140/90 when I first donated blood. Today, my blood pressure is about 99/67....the last time I donated blood it was 102/64. I am not sure if this is due to weight loss or exercise but it definitely has improved!! Good luck!
It is definetly possible. I too have parents who have hypertension and I'm concidered prehypertensive now. My doc said if I loose wait I can stay in pre-heypertension for a longer time so I won't need meds for a longer portion of my life.
