  • Welcome, Carrie!
I've only been here 5 weeks but the support has been tremendous. You have an amazing amount of strength and courage and I am positive you can do this.
My 'aha' moment was recently when I was stuffing my face with something sweet and as soon as I was finished, I wanted more. And more. And I thought to myself, 'when will I ever have enough?' The answer came immediately--never. If I didn't stop the cycle now, I would eat until I was dead. Period.
Setting a mini-goal has helped me tremendously. If I thought about the total weight I have to lose, I don't know if I could keep on working at this. But setting small goals is essential for me. I am 6/10 of a pound away from my first mini-goal and I can't wait to get there!!
I can't say enough how glad I am that you are here. Come often, on good days and bad. Let us support you and cheer you on!
  • Thanks!! I love looking at the tickers in everyone's signature. You've been here 5 weeks and have lost 11 pounds?! That's AWESOME!! See? That gives me hope.
  • Benadryl
    Hi, Michelle, and welcome.

Carrie, I have had a sleep problem for years...all my life, too......and.......if I take the full dose of Benadryl.....ie 2 tablets as recommended for adults, it makes me jittery.

If I take half a dose, just one, it helps me a lot........I hope for your sake your doc. does give you something, but I take 1 a night, have for several years, and it works....you probably know by now I am something of a "fixer"..can't help myself, so for what it is worth....you may want to try half a dose. :-) sleep tight!

    Mary
  • I took two the first night and it drove me nuts. I took half the dosage last night and it was the same. I just wanna sleep. Is that too much to ask?! LOL
  • sigh
Ah, *sigh*..it is such a terrible thing not being able to sleep, and a chicken and egg thing, too.......if you don't sleep you eat more, that is for sure, a proven fact, and when you eat more you get heavier and that makes it harder to sleep!

I do find that exercise helps with sleep, so if you get feeling lighter and move more, I hope that helps you......

Great news that you had a good week eating healthy! Keep going!

    Mary
