Default New & Want To Make Friends

Hey everyone, I'm brand new to 3FC. Like I'm sure many others, I found my way here thru the O Magazine article, and I'm so glad I did. This looks just like what I was wanting to find - a big, friendly community full of others on their weight loss journey.

I'm not on any particular plan - just trying to cut calories & portion sizes and exercise 4 times a week. So far I've lost 15 pounds in the past month, but I have a LONG way to go - still another 120 pounds to lose. It's a bit discouraging to think it will be a year or 2 before I get even close to my goal weight.

I have a weight loss blog at another site started but I'd really like to meet some people here and get that connection. Most of my real life friends are thin and while they are supportive, they don't understand what it's like for me.

Welcome! This is a wonderful place for motivation and support! The before and after pics of these ladies ( and a few men) is so inspirational.

I know it does get discouraging, I'm in the same boat. BUT we will keep at it, no going back! Like alot of the tickers say "I can't lose 100 lbs but I can lose 10 lbs 10 times". That actually works for me.

Congrats on your loss so far, 15 lbs is something to be proud of. Keep us posted on your progress!

Welcome!

I'm fairly new to the site too. It's a great place to chat with other people who are facing similar struggles.

It may seem like you have a long way to go but you have taken a big step by starting! And 15lbs lost so far is fantastic. Even if it's a year or more until you are at your goal weight, you will be making progress along the way that will give you the encouragement to keep going. One day at a time. Or 10lbs at a time or however you want to look at it. Looking forward to hearing about your progress.

Look at it this way at least the next year or 2 you will be working towards your goal and at that time you will be proud of your accomplishment instead of saying in 2007 if i would og f stuck with it I could be X amount of weight or I would be sooooo much healthier.

15 pounds in 1 month good work!
