I'm really, really bad at making introductions, but I'll give it a shot.
I'm 31 and from the Garden State. Go ahead ask me about my Jersey accent.
I think I've spent my life dieting since I was 13. I managed to keep my weight down very low in High school through compulsive low cal dieting and exercise. But when I met my husband shortly after graduating, I seemed to have lost that ability. He's tall and can eat whatever he wants. Before I knew it I was eating appetizers and deserts when we went out. I went from a 7 to a 14 for my wedding.
Fortunately for me, my DH loves me just as I am, no matter what my weight. A couple of years later, fertility treatment made me gain 15 more pounds, plus the baby weight after that. By the time I was 29 I was wearing a 16/18 and wondering how that happened. I lost 30 pounds a couple of years ago on LA weight loss. But certain counselors at the center turned me off and I went off that diet. I managed to keep 20 of those pounds off for the last two years atleast.
Since the end of January I have been following the South Beach diet and loving it. Seems to be the right diet for me. I'm also keeping a fitday account. Healthy eating is good, but when trying to lose weight, I think calories have to be taken into consideration.
Looking forward to joining in the discussions here.
