Hello and welcome. I hope you find some places you like to post and post often. Everyone is doing something different for weight loss. When I came here in January I had just read the YOU on a diet by Dr. Oz and Roizen, great book teaches us many things about our bodies.
Then I read a goal success story by Glory. It so inspired me I bought 2 books by Dr. Pratt, Superfoods Rx and Superfoods Healthstyle. I am now doing my own thing including the superfoods into my diet daily.
I weight train 3 days a week and do cardio 5-7 days.
Read and you get some great ideas just remember to do your research about fact and fiction. Good luck.

Cincinnati Girl,

I'm a calorie counter myself. I use a computerized tracker from FitDay (go to fitday.com) to keep a journal of foods and activities--and also weight. There are many other trackers also available on the web.

We have a lot of plan-specific forums under the Diet Central heading on the main forums page. See what you think! Also, as sharonrr mentioned, the Goals forum is very inspiring!

Hi Lauren!

Welcome!

Glad to have you here!

Seven years ago I got MY wake-up call and have been making changes in my life since then. My weight has come off in steps with long plateaus and then come off some more with more plateaus. Seems like my body is very resistent to changes, so I have to sneak them in while it's not "looking"!

I began with walking to lose my first 30 pounds and ate lower-fat foods. Over the last month I have joined Fitday like Jay mentioned and have been very happy with it. If you'd like to take a look here's the site www.Fitday.com

It is free and you can also order a PC version for $19.99 that is downloaded right onto your computer's hard drive. With that one you do not have to be online to access it. Fitday helped me fight my most recent plateau which lasted EIGHT MONTHS! I've lost nine pounds over the last month with its help.

Good Luck!

Cheryl

Cheryl,
Our goals are very similar except I am just beginning my journey. I am so excited to think I might actually break into the ONEderland. You will get there way ahead of me and I will cheer for you!!!
