Default New member. First post...Jings

Hello all. First post on the board. Thanks to Suzanne for untangling my registration problems. Posting from Scotland.
Have about fifty pounds to lose in total.(Ouch, it hurts to see that written down in black and white...) Been dieting for ever, gaining and losing the same fifteen pounds over and over again and never getting much closer than that to goal.
Joined WW recently for about the millionth time. I don’t follow the points system , I find it slightly less tiresome just to count calories but the good thing about WW is the weigh in once a week. It gives me a target to aim for, and if I don’t go to a meeting then I have to start asking myself why?...and it’s good to make it a priority and force myself to confront the issue...I find the meetings themselves a wee bit dull to be honest and I’m kind of up to here with inspirational poems but there is something nourishing about getting together with a bunch of people who are all struggling with the same problems as I am myself.
I am only 5’ 1” tall (Slow sad shake of the head) and weigh (Gulp)168lbs (Spongebob Square Pants and I were made for each other..) If Aladdin would be so kind as to lend me his lamp my target weight would be 126lbs...My next WW meeting is Wednesday, I am hoping to have lost a pound...wish me luck.

This is a wonderful site...

Welcome, I have been on the diet yo yo for too many years. I like the weekly weigh in also. I belong to TOPS for that reason. I follow a whole foods approach to a total new lifestyle. I am happy and never hungry. Good luck.

Dolores don't you feel good when you step on that WW scale and see a loss especially when someone else didn't lose? I do I admit it makes feel a little smug and encourages me to keep on keeping on. I have gone to WW in the past and have been successful, I am just counting calories now I also go to Curves and get regular weigh ins there also a lot of feedback from staff and other members, in my opinion we should do what works best for us BUT do it. Good luck

canfield, yep, Stephen King has a lot to answer for. ..I would say that I’m his greatest fan but that post has already been filled...by Kathy Bates...

bargoo, thanks for your reply. You’re right about WW...It’s knowing that I have to get on that scale every Wed that keeps me going (most weeks anyway)... I have failed many times on loads of diets but the only time I have lost weight consistently has been when I have been part of a Slimming group like WW...
