New from Oklahoma
Hi everyone! I'm new on the board. I managed to kick 35 pounds off last year but seem to have gotten side-tracked. I joined to get back on track. I'm one of those who has always been "thick" since childhood, and I'm no stranger to dieting. Oh and I've reached that dreaded 50, lol, which really isn't that bad.

July Girl, Welcome. Glad to see another Oklahoma gal on here. What type of plan are you using. Wishing you the best of success with your weight loss goals.

I haven't been following a formal plan. I've been counting calories, cutting out fast food, no junk food in the house and exercing - at least that's what I was doing until December. All that Christmas food and grazing started up bad habits again. I've been thinking I may need to start on a plan just to get me back in the routine of being disciplined.
Plus I dropped 35 pounds last year only to have some of it creep back on over the last 2 months. |
WTG on the weight that you have kept off. That is great. I am counting calories now too. I did Atkins to take the weight off, per my Dr.'s advice , but I found it too restrictive to do for Life. I use the Fitday site here to keep track of my calories and to do my journaling. It's free and it helps me a lot.

Hi Lizzy, thanks. Good to see some OK gals joining up. BTW, I lived in Moore /Norman for about 16 yrs. and went to OU. I now live near Poteau.

I'm dipping in on your conversation! I live in Texas now, but I lived in Moore most of my life and OK will always be home. I've been a lurker on this site but recently started posting. This site is the best and really keeps me motivated. :) Have a great day.

Hello fellow Oklahomans! Lilybelle, thanks so much for the fitday link. I just set up an account, it's awesome. I think it will really help me see where my calories are going, plus keeping me disciplined to putting them in. I love that goal section. Thanks!
