Default I have 34 pounds to lose for summer. Anyone had experience with weight watchers?

I'm new here. I weighed about 125 in highschool. Now I have two kids and I'm 164. I can't believe it! Life is so hectic no wonder people gain weight so easy. Your priorities change and you seem to always put yourself last. I am doing weight watchers. I haven't lost any pounds yet, but I'm done with the crash diets. I want to get to 130 if anyone can give me advise!

Chandry, welcome to 3FC and to Weight Watchers! I am a big supporter of the WW plan! Weight watchers is an awesome plan for learning how to incorporate a new, healthier lifestyle.

Your comments about changing priorities and always putting yourself last are right on the money. Those are just two of many reasons why people find themselves in the position of needing to lose weight. Are you going to be doing flex or core with ww? Whichever you choose, follow it, and you will see results. Add in exercise where ever you can, and that includes putting yourself FIRST for a little bit each day to get some movement in. If your kiddos are little bitty, exercise while they're napping or even use your infant for weight training! Do repititions of lifting him or her over your head, and as the infant grows, you're gradually increasing the weight you're lifting! Younger children? Pick up some workout videos from the library and make it a game, they can exercise with you! Older kids? Let's face it, they're pretty much self sufficient and can leave you alone for 30 minutes and man the phone if necessary! Make it part of your life, and the kiddos will follow right along!

You will see people on this site that lose weight very rapidly, and some that struggle to lose 1/2 pound in a week. Know that your body is different from everyone elses, and you're going to lose at your own pace. No matter how fast or slow that is, as long as you are seeing an overall downward trend, it's working, so don't get discouraged!

OK, I'm done rambling now! Good luck to you!

to 3FC. There's lots of info and support here for Weight Watchers and many other plans. You are so wise to ditch the extra weight now. It sure as heck gets more difficult as you age.
