Hi everyone
I just wanted to briefly introduce myself since I'm new to the forum. I work in
PR and am finishing up my college degree, in addition to working with rescued horses. I have also struggled with food, weight, and eating habits for most of my life.
I had to completely overhaul my life after a big recent wake-up call. I was previously a heavy smoker, heavy drinker, overweight and flirting with obese, sedentary, and, most damagingly, bulimic. My doctor diagnosed me as pre-hypertensive and pre-diabetic at the ridiculously young age of 21. I shoved that information to the back of my mind, and weeks later, after a night of drinking, chain-smoking, and who knows what else, I became completely comatose and almost had to have my stomach pumped, drifting in and out of heart-racing consciousness and having severe chest pains.
So that was the ugly part and the turning point. Now I've quit smoking, quit drinking, gotten psychological help to recover from bulimia, lost about 25 pounds healthily, and started excersizing regularly. I've started working with a nutritionist and will go back to the doctor to re-assess my blood pressure, etc. in a couple of weeks. I really need to stick with this, for the sake of my health and my own survival, so I'm hoping I can find some good support here

.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great day (almost the weekend!) and I look forward to sharing support with all of you.
