Smile 35lbs to lose in Northern VA, looking for a buddy ~I just started the You on a Diet..

Hi! I just got the "You on a Diet" book about 2 months ago. I joined a gym for 3 months and they had a "boot camp" that I had mild success with. I DID lose weight (8 pounds in 2 months), and the exercises were easy enough to do often on my own, BUT they were using the Fat Flush method. That to me was unrealistic because not everyone is going to eat like the book wanted you to, especially if you have more than one person in your household -no way kids are going to eat that. Thats when I saw the You On a Diet show on Discovery Health. I loved the show so much I went out and bought the book. After briefly skimming the book, I came across the exercises they suggest doing. They were the SAME as I was doing at the gym with the "boot camp". That hooked me.

I am currently at 160 and I would like to get down to 135 by April..(my 8th wedding anniversary- we are going to Vegas Baby!)

Anyone want to be a support buddy?

Thanks and Good Luck to everyone!

Hi there Syamon-

I am interested in being a support buddy with you!
Way to go on losing 8 pounds! Sounds like you are in a good place to continue your exercise routine. Would you mind telling me about the Fat Flush Method?
I am a newbie to this site, and it seems we my have some goals in common. I am the same height, but may weigh a little more (I think around 165) -very nervous to step on a scale. My goal is 145, it used to be 130 but I gave that up. 8 years of marriage is a great reason to get away and celebrate! I am up to 16 years of marriage, and we have yet to get away together. DH says he's going to surprise me, but I asked him to give me the pleasure of dreaming about the vacation, and it would be a good motivator to lose weight.
I am 41, and struggle constantly with my weight. It gets tiring worrying about it, so I'm doing something about it. My DH just got me a treadmill, I love walking but we live in MA. and it gets to cold and windy to get out everyday. I try to eat low carb, but its not working, so time to try something else.

I saw Dr. Oz present his book "You on a Diet" on Oprah and liked his approach. Maybe I'll try it. I would like a support buddy, but am not sure how it works. Do we check in with each other with our exercise and diet routines? How often? Let me know if you are interested.
