I am 42 and work from my home, I finally got to the point to do something about the weight. I am 5'8" and 232
I have tried all the fad crud and finally decided to go to a gym and hired a trainer and a nutritionist. Today was day 3 of the workouts...sheeesh am I tired LOL
I have 2 grown boys one lives with dad and the other still lives at home but works offshore along with my hubby so the lonlieness has greated alot of emotional eating which has added up ove rthe last 4 years. I find here at home is where I need to be able tofind some moral support since there isn't anyone her most of the time, so here I am!!
Welcome, you have came to the right place for advice and support. Look around and post wherever you like. Good job on getting a trainer and a nutritionist. They should be able to help you. Good job too on the exercise.
Hi, how are you today? I am doing fine! I know what you are going thru, because my hubby also works offshore, my two children are married and gone. I am 46 years old. My husband has been working offshore for almost 23 years. I have gained a lot of weight too. I am 5' 4" tall, I weigh 236.5. I just started Dec 11, I was 242.5. Boredom is a main issue. But I am ready to make a change. We can do this together. Try to stay busy, that's what I am doing. Read awhile, computer awhile, scrapbook awhile, talk on the phone, watch tv, oh don't forget to exercise, house cleaning, crochet, oil paint by number, and take care of my 2 awesome grandchildren sometime, then repeat the process. Be encouraged you can do this!!!!! One day at a time! Bye

WOW Didn't think I would find another offshore widow here....It's so hard to find others who undertsand the special challenges of having the hubby be gone for long periods of time than be home constantly for another period of time. I am sure you know what it's like to spend holidays without the hubby and other important events!
I am so thankful you chimed in!!
I did fine with the weight until we moved from Louisiana too MO, I don't know anyone here and feel so isolated most of the time. I am enjoying going to the gym tho, I have already met some really cool people, so I think that may be a lifesaver for me!!
