I took prednisone for 1.5 weeks and ended up with aggressive cataracts in both eyes within 3 months. No thanks; never again.

i took prednisone for 2 weeks 16 years ago and I immediately came down with what was later diagnosed as "cluster migraines" for the following 8 months, which made me unable to work or drive or function as a normal human being during that time. i will never touch that stuff again.

on another note, my L4-L5 disc is bulging again as of saturday 5/20 and creating severe and debilitating sciatic pain in my right leg, which has resulted in me having to take tramadol, 800mg ibuprofen 3x a day and valium at night, so this weigh in only showed a 2lb loss and my coach refused to measure me due to all of the swelling, so skipping a weigh in isn't a bad idea!

Default Thanks! 💓

I won't weigh until the 19th. Also, because of the TOM. That's not good what happened to you! Hopefully you are doing well today and reaching goals. Hugs

I used to take prednisone frequently due to chronic sinus infections and it made me very hungry which led to weight gain. Luckily, I haven't had a sinus infection in almost a year and not since I've been on IP. Hopefully that doesn't happen to you. If it does, try to stick to protocol and ride out any potential swelling. It should settle down soon after you stop the treatment.

i'm totally eating my own words right now, as the doctors have put me back on prednisone for this sciatic issue as of yesterday. i'm already feeling a bit puffy, but it is decreasing my pain for now. i let my coach know yesterday and we took a look at my weight to see if it would go up or down in the next week (my coach is also one of my chiropractors). fingers crossed that i don't get any terrible side effects from the prednisone this time around... i'm only on it for a week.
