Default Switching from IP to regular keto

I did IP a few years back and kept it off for 1.5 - 2 years. Then I got depressed for a couple of months, ate like garbage, and things snowballed from there.

I've been toying with doing a reboot for a few months and was going to start after Halloween, but started last Monday when my costume was a little snug. LOL No problem! I'd done it before, so it should be easy, right?

NOPE. I'm hating it this time around. It's getting colder here, so I want hot food. I also have nights where I just don't want to cook some involved meal, or days where I just can't stand the texture of meat, and not being able to have even a tiny bit of cheddar makes me want to cry. My mindset hasn't been the best the last couple of years, with my dad going through leukemia treatment last year and me being laid off from the job I'd always wanted earlier this year. I just can't this time around.

I've been looking into a traditional keto diet with regular food and I want to make the switch. Do I need to phase off IP or can I just start in with keto because I'm already in ketosis?

Been through your similar diet situation.... switched to Keto later in maintenance, yep it works, but you will be upping your calories by quite a bit suddenly, so I would suggest properly doing either Alternative Athletic P1 or regular P2 instead until you get to your goal weight and then after a bit of maintenance practice you could go more keto. Don't add extra fat if you have fat to lose.... your body will use dietary fat first and leave the stored fat alone. Use the hot food packets instead like the soups with added veg in, or the Mac N Cheese, or the vegetarian Chili, the Apple Oatmeal for breakfast, etc. If the job situation means you can't afford IP - there are great cheaper alternatives out there and a great FB page for those doing IP with other companies packets/proteins. Here's the link to the closed group, you can ask to be added. https://www.facebook.com/groups/idea...tives/?fref=nf
Check the threads here for 'Mixin' in the Kitchen' recipes - rainbow did some AWESOME packet hacking and had some great ideas - worth a scroll thru - everything from easy quick stuff when you don't want to fuss, to recipes for special occasions and IP desserts.

I'll check back with you soon!
Cheers
