I cheated and I'm so upset.

  • Hey all.
Well, as the title said, I cheated. It was small, but it was a cheat. Hubby and I went to a friend's for dinner and I brought my 8 oz of chicken and 2 cups of veggies. I prepped everything there and ate my own food and I was totally fine. Then for some foolish reason I was so compelled to have a bite of her homemade mac and cheese. One bite turned into about 5. It was penne noodles with a homemade cheese sauce (ALL the fat lol) and breadcrumbs on top. What should I do now? Should I avoid my restricted item tomorrow? I feel at a loss and so upset with myself. Thanks in advance.
  • My suggestions...Forgive yourself! Tomorrow is a clean slate. Just stick to the plan, no need to cut out restricted. You might have a slower wt loss but sometimes the opposite happens, carbs stoke the metabolic furnace. good idea to drink extra water tomorrow.
    Best wishes to you!
  • I agree. Forgive yourself and recommit. You are worth it. No use dwelling on it.

Thank you. This is exactly what I did per your advice. I appreciate it
  • BTW... remember it isn't so much 'all the fat' that hurts you in this scenario.... it's all the (penne) carbs. Just learn from the mistake, and keep movin' on

Thank you, very good point! Thankfully I had a very successful weigh in but I've learned my lesson from this scary moment of temptation. Also, i saw you are from BC! I am as well--on the island actually. Nice to know there's some fellow BC'ers enjoying success on the program

So glad to hear you had a good weigh in, AND that you used that experience with temptation to cement your resolve. That adds to your pool of strength for the long haul.
Thanks for posting your experience and follow up--we can all use the inspiration!
