Hi Arobed - Let's look at the positive!

1) You had a successful surgery! Congrats! There is never a guarantee on that.
2) After surgery, you decided to do a reboot! Awesome!
3) You say your are discouraged and ashamed, but also determined. First of all - discouraged - NO WAY SISTER! If discouraged was really you, you would have never decided to reboot and come here. Consider yourself ENCOURAGED! Ashamed - Honey, we've all been there many times! Again if truly ashamed, you would not have had the true courage to come back here and start posting again, so COURAGE is what you have! Determined - Now that one I COMPLETELY BELIEVE! You are a fighter who has just joined our TEAM and we ALL welcome you here!
4) You have not reached your all time high weight again! This is what I call PROGRESS - You stopped the pattern of bad habits before it got worse. That is Self-Awareness, which will help you moving forward!

Just posting is a major step to change. It is you identifying that you need to change and you know posting will give you the support and inclusion with others on the same path. We are all here working - sometimes fighting - to get healthier bodies so we won't have to face even harder health consequences of our bad habits. Just know that we are located all over yet connected in our mission to lose these pounds in a healthy way.

We SUPPORT you and will ALWAYS be here for you!!!! WELCOME HOME!

I'll report here what I've already told LOSINGFORGOOD2010 in a PM... the diet is already doing its thing... I'm pretty sure I'm in ketosis because I'm hardly having any cravings... I don't have scales, so I don't know how the weight is going, but my face is less puffy & my tummy isn't so "out there"!.. the only complaint I've had has been the awful headaches, but that's lots better this morning, so maybe I'm getting past that...
:cb:

Hope everybody is having a SPLENDID Saturday...

Hi All! Nearing the end of week one and I feel great! I'm down 5 pounds since Monday and that's a great motivational jump-start to this journey. The losses might get smaller, but I'll stick with it.

It really feels much better and simpler to eat this way on phase one. Last night I went to a dinner party and brought yummy curried grilled vegetables and a fresh salad. Everyone enjoyed my contributions and I was able to eat freely. Skipping the dessert and bread was not an issue.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Arobed Welcome back! You did not gain all of th wait back, so that is a partial success. Good for you for taking the step to get bit of weight off at this point. You'll do it, I'm sure!

Losingforgood The Mention of Menchies makes me sigh. That is a lovely treat for when we get to goal. Hopefully, this time I'll be able to ration this and not go haywire!

Warm thoughts to all!

I'd like to hear them say, look, Grandmom is itty-bitty!.. so I'm more determined than ever to be a successful re-booter...

Aunt Sheshie, I know EXACTLY how you feel. Can't believe my two beautiful daughters are 40. My youngest turns 40 next month. But it sure is great to have them and watch them as parents!

And now, my news: Just finished week one and I'm down 6 pounds! It's a good running start and I'm good with it! Onward!!

Have a great day and a great week, everyone! :carrot::carrot:

:cheer2::bravo::cheer2: Great news, joysh!!!.. you really are off to a good start...

Hard to believe I'm on Day 10 of my reboot... it's been easier this time than the last 3 or 4 times I tried to restart... I think it's because I didn't give up carbs altogether cold turkey... I started by giving up wheat, which was my worst addiction... I remember that's what I did the first time I did IP 6 years ago... then, once I was over the withdrawal from wheat, the rest of the carbs were easier to cut back on... come to think of it, I really didn't eat that many carbs other than wheat products, so I guess I really did almost quit them cold turkey... anyway, I don't know how many lbs. I've lost in the past 10 days, but I feel like I've lost something... my pants are looser in the waist & I don't have chipmunk cheeks quite so bad now... it's a good feeling!..

Starting over

Ughgh STarting again! lost originally 80 pounds dec. 2014...kept 60 off until October...since then pounds slowly have piled back on... I've gained another 40..so total gain back 60 pounds. So disappointed in myself. I have tons of product here in the house and I could have started back up months ago but "waited for the holidays to be over"....they were over a month ago and I still couldn't get back on the wagon. Started up 1/26 and feel good physically however I need encouragement to keep on track again.
I figure if I can stay the course I will lose the 60 or even a great part of that by July. I averaged 2.5 lbs per week total in the 8 months it took me to lose 80...but the first 50 I lost in 4 months...it took 4 months to lose the last 30...a tad longer.
Hardest part is getting back to drinking soooo much water. I love water however was down in ounces and had been indulging in coke zero as my treat once a day...(although some days I skipped)
hope i can do this.

Bellamack 01-28-2016 09:31 AM

Good Morning

Down another 3 lbs today :) I originally lost on IP in 2011, but did not phase off properly. ugh. Reboots have been many, but this one has lasted 4 weeks & I feel I am good to go! Have a great day :)

Nice job! 11 pounds in 1 month...very steady pace. Glad to hear your reboot is going well. I have a hard time with the 3 kids and hubby always wanting the weekend friday night pizza, chips comfort food. I used to just bypass this by getting a salad with chicken and used no dressing...It was fine and I got used to it. The chips kill me...sooo tempting. I can pass on brownies, cakes and sweets but the salty chips.. my downfall.
last time i lost 80 i was 8 mos OP and didn't cheat once, not once. hoping i can do this again.

Same thing happened to me. I did IP in early 2012 and lost 50lbs. I didn't phase off either. just decided one day I was done and went back to old habits. Eventually the weight came back on and I found I had gained it all back and then some. 20 weeks into my second round and I'm finally back to where I was when I quit the first time. It's a good reminder for me that 1) it took a long time to get here and do it all over again 2) I need to phase of properly this time 3) I need to be more conscious about my food choices in maintenance 4) I shouldn't wait too long before rebooting when I need it 5) I'm going to have a scream weight, so I know that I won't let myself get past that point and I MUST do Phase 1.

thx for your input. gives me hope that i can continue... i hear you about the scream weight...the last 7 weeks i have totally ignored the scale and i think i'm up 20 pounds just in that short period of time!! i hurt my back, something i had never done before, and i was unable to move for a few weeks. now i am feeling a bit better but i was "comforting" my back ache with yummy foods and even though i don't eat in between meals my meal choices were not the adequate ones. when i am alone i am good and don't think too much about eating nor temptations, but when everyone is around the house and they are all talking about how hungry they are, (growing teens, and hubby ) then family meals on Sunday's football season...it makes it really hard. Thx for ur support

HI Mae, Bellamack, and Mamacitaof2! I also remember you all. I'm back on a reboot to lose 25 pounds. I'm a week and a half into it and have already lost 7, which feels great!

My coach said this to me last time I was on a reboot: When we get a haircut, it grows again and we get another haircut. When we wear our clothes, they get dirty and need to be washed. This is "upkeep." When we lose weight, especially if we've been overweight for many years, we need occasional reboots as upkeep. She tells me never to be ashamed but to be proud that I have the courage to come back and do my "upkeep." This is what I always this about when I'm doing yet another reboot.

Seems to work for me.

BTW - Mamacita, A scream weight is really good. It worked for me for a while, although when I'm "off program" - really off-program and know that I'm eating and gaining, I don't really want to get on the scale until I know I'm getting back on IP.

Best of luck to you all! -- And me too!

Addy 01-28-2016 07:59 PM

Hello All!
I hope you don't mind if I join in on the reboot. I see some familiar names! (waves) This will be my 3rd round and by Goddess, something has to click and stick this time! I waited too long to come back and sadly in 2 years, put it all back on (and maybe more, not sure, haven't stepped on the scale yet)
I will be starting back on February 4th, and I have the odd tug-of-war going on my my head.. 'oh, going to start soon, go get all the stuff you know you can't have and enjoy now!' .. and the 'don't be silly, why add the extra when it takes twice as long to get rid of it?'

There are things I have noticed about myself, yes, I am an emotional eater. Yes, I am a carb addict, if I can put something between two slices of bread, I will.. it's the perfect food! I don't listen to that little voice that says 'you're full' if I think I will miss out on something delicious, like dessert. I think this comes from when I was a kid. 5 of us at home, limited income and if I didn't have my dessert when everyone else was , one of my sisters often would eat it (I am the youngest)
my goodness, I have rambled on. So, Hello everyone and I hope to be more than a fly on the wall and contribute here. I look forward to getting to know this amazing group again.

Addy.

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes. This.

jennydoodle 01-29-2016 09:29 AM

My reboot is still plugging along, I am slowly inching my way towards goal. Last time I checked, I was at 142.4. Hoping for a good loss this week as last week was a small one, but quite frankly, I'll take whatever I can get.

Aunt Sheshie 01-30-2016 12:56 PM

:yoga: I decided to start exercising yesterday... over the past few years, workouts have been way too few & far between... a little sore today, but not bad... my routine for now is yoga & kettlebells, but I'll add some cardio after a week or so... I didn't want to shock my system too much!..

I also thought maybe making a daily schedule would help me remember everything I want/need to do, to keep me honest, so to speak... it lists the foods I can eat & when to eat them, as well as the workouts I want to do & when to do them... otherwise, I'd put something off & then not get it done... sounds like I'm a bit ditzy (maybe I am!:dizzy:), but I've always been a list-maker & I guess my mind just works that way... anyway, perhaps that idea would appeal to somebody else...

jennydoodle 02-01-2016 02:32 PM

Weighed on Sat. at 141.6. I am so close to goal (again!). I am already planning my phasing and what I will eat, when, etc... Last time on IP I did not have a good phasing strategy in place, this time, I do. I am hoping that by the end of Feb, I will be at goal (135) and can start the phase implementation in March.

mommyd21199 02-01-2016 10:39 PM

Tomorrow is day 1

Please...help. I need support to get me over the hump.

MDLoser 02-02-2016 05:14 AM

I began a reboot sunday.. I was a slacker in January. It got cold and made excuses not to run, ate like crap, and gained 8 pounds during the month. I not on the program, but eating very similar. protein shakes and veggies and lean meat. As close to the program as possible with out the packaged meals. And starting the exercise again.

Mae5 02-02-2016 07:50 AM

Wk 1 back on the wagon

7 lbs down my first wk back. Been a loonng week but have everything written down and goals on my calender with treats every x amount of weight loss.. (Massage, facial, pedicure etc)
I figure the first goal reached i ll indulge in a body massage! Treating ourselves right and taking care of our bodies is very important.
Hope everyone is having a good week!!

Mae5 02-03-2016 12:22 PM

Update - I find that this time around when I am hungry...I do allow myself to eat something healthy, high protein even if it isn't on phase 1. I was so extremely strict last time that when i went back to eating healthy food off the program my body held on to all of it...even fruit, hummus, cheese, small quantities...I have learned that I can't deprive my body of these healthy foods completely rather just limit them to one or two bites. I feel good after this first reboot wk has passed and I am sure next week will be a slow one...always works out that way.. however I know in the long run it all evens out..7 one week 3 another and even plateaus. Drinking plenty of water and really thinking about the final results "again" :)) keeps me motivated!

Just as long as you know these could potentially slow down your progress.

Mae5 02-05-2016 10:19 AM

Snowy no school day here in the Northeast.. Happily the scale showed another 3lb loss ! Yeah.. Looking forward to a productive weekend!

jennydoodle 02-05-2016 10:23 AM

Looks like everyone is doing great on their reboots. I am still plugging along. Losses seem to be slowing down now that I am near the end. It's to be expected, but it is tough when you know you have been 100% and not be rewarded with a loss :) We'll see what tomorrow brings (my official weigh day). I "feel" smaller, so this week may be an inches week. :)

Largo 02-05-2016 01:19 PM

My reboot is going well. I have lost the same weight in one month this year than I did in 2 months last year. But then last year I had a few "non op" days. This year I have been strictly on plan. I don't feel the weight loss in my clothes but must be losing inches somewhere. I didn't measure myself at the beginning, which may have been a mistake, but will just plug away. I am halfway to where I want to be and have two months left before I need to phase off. Here's hoping that is enough time.
Keep up the good work everyone and let's get her done!

Ain't that the truth! I'm down one more pound. It's seems like this is going soooo slow. I'm staying OP and it's still a slow go. Ah well, I know this works and I'm determined.

How are you doing, mommyd? Have you started this? You can do it!!

PurpleMomster 02-06-2016 02:26 PM

Hi everybody!

I've been hanging around for a few weeks but I thought I should jump in and say "Hi".

I was on IP in 2013, lost 80lbs but didn't phase off and went on an all-inclusive Mexican vacation in early 2014 and never looked back. I gained almost all of what I lost back.

Decided early this year that I didn't want to be like that anymore. That I knew I could do it and so, started back on IP, using alternatives, on January 4th. And I'm down almost 15lbs - woohoo!

I recognize a few names from back in the day - nice to see some of you!

I will try to check in more often and chat with everyone again!

Jo

Hi all,

The holidays dragged on and 15 pounds hopped on :P. Just finished my 1st week of phase 1. I have decided not to get focus in on the scale, but to let my clothes become the guide. I am going to stay on Phase 1 through the middle of March. I feel so much better already!

Wishing you all a great OP day.

Hi Joysh and Jo!

If you are having a problem with not getting enough food, you could try the P1 Alternative (diabetic) Protocol. It adds a slightly larger range of foods and worked for me when I got ill from not having enough food to fuel me on reg P1.
There's a link to a protocol sheet for this on one of the other IP threads. Sorry I don't remember which one.

Day 3 of reboot. So far, so good. Hoping this will be my last time. I know it works and if I stick to it fast. But this time lots of stress in my life. Hope I can sustain.

You CAN do it...step by step. Don't punish yourself if you have a slip up..just start again with the next meal and go from there. try to do a little 10 minute meditation each day if you can...just quietly breathing and being aware of you and your surroundings...helps reduce stress and keeps you focused on your goals.
