HIS - This was posted on the IP alternative facebook page "Just came back from my local grocery store, HEB, all Healthy Living Products are on sale! 20% off! 2 days only! Includes all Quest powders, chips and bars! EAS powders and RTDs. They have all flavors of Quest chips -which are new to the store! Worth it to go shopping this weekend!". I know you live in Texas, not sure if there is an HEB near you. (I used to live in San Antonio and they were all over there).
Hope the pancake hustle went well. |
Linda, that first grocery shopping trip for P3 is a real mental workout, isn't it? You almost need a support person to help out. "I'm here as your support shopper." haha
mama, I hope you're on the mend. Didn't know you have a pug! I've had one; just have a grand-pug now, who comes over a couple of times a month for me to do doggy day-care. smda, I think there might be an HEB somewhere in FW..... They're more of a south TX chain, I'm up in the D/FW area. But I will check. If all else fails, I can get Quest powder at GNC or Amazon. jenny, gosh, you're doing great. If you go down to 130, do you think you can maintain at that weight? largo, I went to baby shower when I was in P1, and, YES, the fruit was a lot more tempting than the cake! Good for you for hanging in there OP. The Hotcake Hustle 10K is in the books, and I met both my goals (finish in under an hour, and not have to poop mid-race :D ). My weight was up 3 pounds this morning but I ate a lot of carbs & calories yesterday. Still, I hated that I was carrying that extra weight. The 1 hour drive to the race was stressful. There was traffic (at 6 a.m. on a Saturday!), I was worried about my ability to do the run, I was worried about my tummy... All that anxiety probably helped my guts get moving once I got there. (And can I just say YAY for races with indoor bathrooms?!) The run itself was nice, mostly flat with a long, sloping rise over a bridge in the middle of the 5K loop, so I ran up and down that bridge 4 times. By the 4th time it felt like the bridge had gotten a mile longer. ;) I struggled with staying focused. Too many people. I just felt not in tune with my pacing, especially in the first mile when I had to weave through all the slower runners and walkers. Once all the 5K runners turned off after the first loop, the crowd thinned out a lot and I got more "in the zone." In the future, I'll look for 10Ks that start at a different time than the 5K runners. Anyway, I finished 2nd in my age group, with a time of 57:37, 9'16" average pace (I was shooting for 9'20"). I had negative splits in the second half - the ability to focus made a huge difference. I was kind of disappointed that I didn't win 1st place, until I found out the woman who won ran 7 minute miles, and has qualified for and run in the Boston Marathon. Then I didn't feel bad about 2nd place. LOL. I ate 3 hotcakes after the race, with real maple syrup. OMG. It was heaven. I'll have to go back on P1 tomorrow, but it was worth it to have those pancakes. In other news, after the race I found out one of my coworkers passed away this morning, after several month of battling Stage 4 breast cancer. She was my age, we both had 4 kids, and we'd laughingly compare struggles as moms of adult kids. Broke my heart. She lost a lot of weight a couple of years ago and I think it was via the IP protocol, because I've seen her name as a member of some of the FB IP groups. I hope the soy in the packets didn't play a role in her b.c. :( |
Linda - I know you are going to be in heaven tomorrow morning and can't wait to hear about it :) I still read and compare nutritional information every week :) & wow 125! Congrats lady ! That's amazing!
HIS - so sorry about your coworker and congrats on placing 2nd. Terrific splits! Sounds like a beautiful area. The last 5k DH and I ran didn't corral people by times and he had a similar issue being stuck behind large groups of slower folks. My first mile is almost always my worst regardless. DD10's bday party went really well at the trampoline place and everyone went home with tired kids :D it was a great work out - and that plus 9 miles this morning helped justify the slice and a half of pizza and piece of birthday cake. So that's 2 indulgence meals, back to back...I was amazed though the scale was back down to goal this morning :) I will wait for tomorrow morning before I make the call to scale back...it is suppose to be ridiculously cold Monday and while I get the luxury of sleeping in a bit and running in the daylight, it still predicted to be single digits with the wind chill. |

Sounds like you're going to get the cold front that's moving through here right now. You're a woman with more ovarian fortitude than I, if you run in single digits. Once it gets below freezing, I just can't do the outdoor running thing. |
WOW! I don't show up here for a couple of days and there's PAGES of new posts! So, getting caught up this morning, with my coffee in hand :) Actually I woke up about an hour ago, but a very cold morning here, so I made some hot water/lemon and took it back to bed and watched the news. Lazy start to the day.
Yesterday I weighed myself in the morning, up a whole lb  Today I weighed myself in the morning, down that same whole lb. What the heck did I eat? Maybe broccoli? Oh well, I'm used to small ups and downs, goes hand-in-hand with daily weighing, but that whole lb freaked me out just a bit. Next Sunday, I am going to start P2 to start my vacation Phase-off. I know I won't be at goal, but I'm comfortable with this plan, even though I know I'll be back to P1 after vacation for awhile. I've been trying to plan how the heck I'm going to eat 8 extra oz of protein for lunch. I like chicken, so I will probably cook a whole chicken and just eat off that for a few days (put it on a salad, add to soup, or just a few slices). I made Janeva's chili last week, very good, so I'll make a big batch of that this week, and freeze portions. Have to come up with a few other ideas. Linda WOW! you did so well on P2 and HOLY COW! 125 going in to P3, :woohoo: Got to feel good having that nice cushion going in. have fun with those yummy breakfasts!! I'm wondering, is there a list anywhere of some good brand names of things to buy? I know people have mentioned some things (Oikos, Alpen Muesli, Ezekiel bread), and I know there are guidelines, but I don't recall ever seeing an actual list of suggestions. HIS GREAT RESULTS on your Hotcake Hustle, you must feel so fantastic with that, and justifiably proud!!.... but even if it wasn't... what a fantastic shirt!! Love it!! looks much better than Quest pancakes and WF syrup :T  mama - congrats on the new decade :dancer: I'm sure the WI Tuesday will be great! Sorry to hear you've got that bug, tummy issues are tough on this diet, but eat what you can, hope you feel better soon! Sue - not a bad loss for the week, more than a lb is something to celebrate, that much closer to goal!! :) You must be getting excited about the cruise, sounds like you've got the plan in place and you'll have a great time without having to stress about food! Size 14 pants  Those size drops feel so good!! and I hate to tell you, but they'll be too loose in no time!!! Largo great choices for a dinner party. I can handle eating at home, going to a restaurant, but it stresses me out to have people over and choosing what food to serve. I have some friends coming for lunch on Friday, and have been debating what to have, lunch is easier though, so I'll come up with something for them that I can tweak a bit for me. jenny you've been having such great losses on your reboot! Hope it all goes well with your in-laws visiting, a change in eating routine can throw things out of whack some, but you've got this, and even if no loss this week, it's just a week Beth Nice fun BD party, glad you all had fun! and how great to be able to have a couple of indulgences without getting stressed out about it, sounds like a sign that you're getting pretty comfortable with maintenance :) Well, I have some things that have to get done this morning, so I'd better get at it before I get too lazy. Have a great Sunday, Ipeeps!! |

HIS - sorry, I know you didn't post your actual splits, but your 9'16 average led me to believe they were pretty darn good ;) & glad the tummy behaved! Trust & believe I gotta get my situation sorted / figured out before our 10 miler next month. I guess the good thing is that most races have port-o-potty stops along the way (*fingers crossed*)
Blue - broccoli is a huge bloater for me & definitely could've been the pound up / down. Sounds like you are ready - and who knows, you might be in for a nice surprise when you do P2 / P3 & not have to go back to P1 ;) - crossing my fingers for you! Nope - my ovarian fortitude is waning...sounds like mother nature is going to win one tomorrow and put me on the treadmill at work - I am a little disappointed but not looking for frostbite. Wind chills tomorrow are projected to be 0 - 5 *brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* I also have to work...anyone else in the States working tomorrow? :( ugh Also, Linda - whats your weather looking like for late Friday / Saturday? NoVa / DC area sounds like it might be in for the first big snow of the season Thursday into Friday...seeing some projections of 10 - 20"!!! Really excited :D Hope it materializes and we can go sledding at the Manassas Battlefield all day!!! BTW - HIS, how are you feeling today? Were you able to P1? & curious, what did you eat / carb up on Friday? I was SORE from my 9 miles this morning...took a while to work out the kinks - lots of time on the roller...and an hour walking around the mall helped a little. I was also starving today - and have noticed after the last 3 hour+ runs I've ate quite a bit on Sunday (but not gone over my BMR - just gotten really close to the top-end)...congrats (ovarian fortitude! love that! lol) to you if you P1'd today! |

If you aren't having any other 'female' problems there needn't be an issue. Liana PS: ovarian fortitude = ladyballs! |
I have to work tomorrow, not looking forward to the 60 min drive and the walk in from the parking lot. Had to do laundry tonight so I had clean long underwear. Plus they moved the first meeting of the day 15 min earlier, so I now have to start earlier, if only it meant I would finish earlier.
Mall wall for me today too, I did get over 10000 steps but will miss my target. Stopped by GNC while in mall and picked up 4 bags of quest chips. I just tried one chip, not sure I liked. I also picked up a pack of quest pb protein powder and salted carmel. Can I make cookies with the pb? Any recipes? What do you do with salted caramel? |
Ob is a guy, I have a history of issues, and he wants to prevent a development of abnormal endometrial tissue. He would like to see 4 per year, unless there is proof that I am menopausal. He told me avg age is 51.4. I need to have fsh checked to see status. I just need to stop by the lab to have blood drawn.
|
Sue - both make amazing mug cakes!!!! I still make the salted caramel at least once a week.
Ugh - :( sorry you have to work too. One good thing is traffic will be non-existent so I can wake up at 7:00 and still be on the treadmill by 7:45 |
Hi Everyone- a quick check in- don't know where the time is going- planned to update my first P3 day and suddenly it was time for bed-
Ok, I'm way overthinking- and as I look at my spreadsheet (backed up with MFP) for what I will have this morning (very similar to yesterday) I am not sure I am doing this right. DATE/DAY FOOD CALORIES NET CARB PROTEIN FAT SUGARS SUNDAY 1/17/2016 1 Slice Schar deli bread 130 22 3 1.5 2 1 L scrambled egg (pam in pan) 70 0 6 5 0 1/2 packet Justins almond butter 100 1.5 3 9 0.5 Oikos 0-0-0 cocnut cream yogurt 120 15 15 0 7 1/2 6" banana 45 10.2 0.6 0.2 6 Totals: 465 48.7 27.6 15.7 15.5 MONDAY 1/18/2016 1 Slice Schar deli bread 130 22 3 1.5 2 2 L scrambled egg (pam in pan) 140 0 12 10 0 3T EB egg whites 20 0 5 0 0 1 wedge LC spicy pepper jack cheese 35 1 2 1.5 1 Oikos 0-0-0 mixed berry yogurt 120 9 15 0 7 Fresh blueberries 43 9 1 0 8 488 41 38 13 18 sorry- it didn't line up as prettily as it does in excel. Tonight I will make the OIAJ for tomorrow. To top it off, my Fitbit isn't talking to MFP no matter what I've done-relink it, make sure negative adjustments is checked-so MFP has me WAY WAY over my total calorie allotment. I dunno- just feeling overwhelmed. I know that this is normal for most based on what I've read. In part- gosh, having to think for myself as to what I am going to eat---lol--- that's been my problem all of these years lol- BUT I am going to stay away from the scale this week. I don't need to be anymore of a headcase than I already am. I did weigh last night just to update my body fat etc. numbers. Beth I used to like you!!! :D:D After last winter, if I never see snow again- it'll be too soon. Although- I should be able to wear my snow pants- of course over jeans and long johns to keep them on- ....they didn't fit last year-and when they fit right...oh- it was July...:dizzy: I haven't paid attention to Friday yet- but...I will now- it's snowing here this morning-we might be in the pocket of 4" -it's hit or miss. I'm working also today, DBF gets to have the day off. I wish I did so I could get the rest of what I wanted to do yesterday done. Sue Sorry about the issues- but before you do anything- yes, get the FSH tested. Pics for you was one of the other things I had wantd to get done yesterday- sorry I haven't. HIS CONGRATULATIONS putting the Hotcake Hustle in the books! GREAT JOB!!! It's 5:15 gotta do my workoutout and then get downstairs to get breakfast going and lunch made- Have a great day and I'll try to check in later and finish catching up with everyone. Linda:?: |
Good Morning everyone! There was a lot of reading to catch up on! I just have a few more minutes left of break, so not much time to comment.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I was feeling better the next day and able to go to DS hockey games. Still not 100% the rest of the weekend, but well enough to sit a game occasionally. I was not good about water intake the last three days and the scale reflects it. Not terribly so, but enough that I don't like it. I'm drinking a LOT of extra water today to flush it all out. I also wasn't able to each all of my meals the last three days. I know that would be a factor as well. WI tomorrow morning, so hopefully things have improved! |
So, I texted a picture of my spreadsheet to my coach and she said it all looks fine and to remember to stay under 500 calories. If I don't want to eat it all I don't have to- yeah right!! like THAT'S gonna happen...:D So, tomorrow I will tackle OAIJ. I can't get over how delicious the blueberries were that we got. So out of season, I kind of expected them to be very bland.
Beth most are saying it's too early to tell for us, but we could get a whopper- or it could miss us completely. Fingers crossed for nothin' ;) Mama so glad to hear you are doing better! Nothing like not feeling well and HAVING to eat. Blue how was the scale for you today? Thought about the bloat as I scarfed down some broccoli this noon- I have to say, I love not being starved by 9ish- I'm all about that for sure! I just hope that all the additional food doesn't give me the big "C" issue like the first week in P2. Just wanted to pop in and say hi and let you all know what my coach said- I hope that everyone is having a great Monday- |
