I too, am avoiding the scale and struggling. Family wedding this weekend, 2.5 weeks until school starts. Just not ready to buckle down yet, but I am really hating the tire around my waist.
I have been working on finding a natural way to handle my headaches and intense PMS. I have unfortunately been turning to crutch foods to deal with it. In the long run, I am just making it worse since all the books about peri menopause say to limit carbs. Ugh!
Luccilove, phasing off is a better plan than jumping off. Even after phasing off for my Maine vacation last year, the increase in carbs= a 12 pound gain. The key (which I am failing at right now) is to not go off the deep end and get right back on track.
Jenny, I really wish that my 100% determination would come back. I dread the carb flu- mine lasts for days

but, I am not going to let this backslide turn into a return to life as an overweight person.
