Jenny: The ice cream cake could be 'accidentally' left out beside the sink... darn - it melted. Then mopped up & chucked... Bwahahahahah!:s:

Hang in there Steph & Slip & Hawaii & Lucci (and all the other regulars in the background, lol). This week is a new week and another day! One day at a time!

Picture 4 = Three generations Mum (my cousin)(45), Grandma (my aunt)(79), Grad Girl (second cousin)(18)

Liana, such cute pictures! Wonderful idea for a Grad. party.

7 more days of school! Yippee!!!

canadjineh 06-10-2015 09:46 PM

Hahaha, you can celebrate your own 'grad' from this class in a week, Slip!

Those are great pics Liana. Looks like a fun night had by all.

Eating has gone downhill this week. Had 2 days at an all day workshop which I navigated pretty well but just a little too much snacking on poor choices and the carb and sugar devil returned. 2 incidents of eating at 4 am, one was cuz of an issue with my sister that has been upsetting, the other was likely a result of impulse and the pattern set the night before. I'm up a few lbs and have not felt like P1 but time to work at it again.

I turned 40 on Wednesday which was exciting and I feel happy about getting older as life just seems to get better in so many was as I get healthier.

Happy Birthday:) :dizzy:

Turning 40 was waaaay better than turning 30. And turning 50 was pretty OK too, lol. Somehow turning 30 made me feel like I was no longer a 'young woman', now I was just a 'woman'.
Family drama is tough to deal with, Jenny... I feel for you, hang in there.

 Hellooooo! everybody.

Last night was difficult on patrol. There is a very large forest fire in the neighbouring Forest District and all the smoke was being blown our way with high winds yesterday, through the night, and now today. At least the temp has dropped from 35 to 16 today although the low pressure coming in means erratic winds continue. They went from 2 helicopters to 6 this morning and it is 1500 hectares (3700 acres) with 10 properties evac-ed and 65 on alert.
I have issues with asthma and the smoke did NOT help last night. Of course I forgot my Ventolin at home so all night I felt like I was out of breath. We are not in any danger from the fire itself as it is too far away, but I have been through two interface fires and been evac-ed myself so I feel for the stresses those folks are going through.
I ended up refreshing myself with a Bluberry-Pom Fruit & Yogourt Smoothie from McDonalds at 3:45 this morning, lol. They have their "all summer drinks sale' on til Labour Day in Sept, and it is often tempting to get a smoothie for $2 or an iced 2% unsweetened coffee for $1. AND they are open all night :coffee:

Hello friends! Why does life have to get so busy? LOL Seems like we are ALL in the same boat with our eating. I am wondering if it is that time of year. Too many opportunities to fall off the rails, and I don't have much will power these days.
I did cross off a bucket list item this weekend. Our town has a 5km race every year and I have told myself for the past 6 years that I would love to go in it. Well this past Saturday I did it! I did it in just under 36 minutes, probably not the best time, but I don't care about that. I am so happy to have done it, so proud of myself. This coming Saturday is the fun 5km run DH and I signed up for, looking forward to that now. Little worried about the climbing obstacles but not the run itself. I will let you know how it goes.
Keep plugging along friends.

Happy Birthday Jenny!

Hope you are breathing better, Liana!

Way to go on the 5k, Want2b!

The family wedding shower is done. Turned out wonderfully, but holy moly it was a lot of work!

3.5 days left of school and the children are restless!! That is putting it nicely. I think I can, I think I can......

canadjineh 06-16-2015 04:03 AM

Here's to the numbers... 5K's :woohoo: and 3.5 days, lol!

Jenny38 06-17-2015 09:14 AM

Just a quick hello, lost track of the time

Yeah Slip you are almost done

I think if I won the lottery I would plan a weekend for us all to meet at a lovely spa where we could be pampered and fed healthy food, with lots of gluten free options, and do yoga, go swimming, sleep, and have a nice visit face to face. It has been a big year for everyone

I guess I better start buying lottery tickets.

Slipfree 06-17-2015 07:23 PM

Would love to spa with all of you!

1.5 days! Survived Field Day today. Will be sore tomorrow, as my homeroom
Made it through 4 rounds of the tug of war. We lost in the final :(

canadjineh 06-18-2015 12:56 AM

Yes, please, keep us all in mind for the lottery spa date, Jenny! ;) :lucky::beach:

My biceps & trapezius muscles moan in sympathy, Slip! Almost there....

DH & I went to the live music concert in the park (every Wednesday night during summer) with a friend who is on her own. It was a Funk band, so how could we NOT get up & dance on the grass?? "Play that funky music, white boy!"
It was fun & relaxing which we needed tonight. I've had a couple rough days with my Dad not feeling very well yesterday then headed to the hospital today (my DH drove him in at 2:30 am this morning while I stayed with my mom). We thought it could be a heart attack but it turned out to be a bladder infection that had been hanging on for a bit. We picked up a prescription which should do the trick. Stressful for all, but he was back home after a whackload of tests (heart, lungs, blood, urine, etc) and observation til 10 am today. I haven't quite eaten according to my plan... but it could have been much worse. I made dinner for them tonight and was stressing a bit about it... Mum has very specific tastes due to the dementia and can be hard to cook for but I can't just give them anything because they both have to watch blood sugars.
It all turned out good though - there was a basa fillet in their fridge so I just did a Parmesan crusted baked fillet (mayonnaise slathered on, and then Parmesan and lemon pepper sprinkled liberally on top), raw red pepper strips to dip into homemade fresh mild guacamole, and a Italian mushroom antipasto salad with olive oil, a bit of balsamic vinegar, and green onion in it.
They both ate it all up and enjoyed it so I'm glad.
I have an added 12 hour static onsite patrol tomorrow 1900-0700 & I hope things are OK while I am working.

Darnit, I was all inspired to go out and buy a lottery ticket and I forgot until I checked this thread again. Maybe next week ;)

I have been maintaining pretty well but I would really like to drop 5-10 more lbs. I'm thinking this won't happen unless I do Phase 1. But I loooove my fun days. *whining*

High fives to Slip for finishing the school year and to want2be for running the 5k!

Slipfree 06-19-2015 10:03 PM
