Jenny, sorry to hear about your tendon and your son's pinworm! Stressful!!! My inner brat has cooperated for the most part since Monday.
Plans for my weekend were just cancelled due to rain. Oh well, I am really tired anyway. Life has been so stressful this year at school that I am really looking forward to summer this year. A colleague told me that we have 25 school days left, yay!!! |
Lucci: Hang in there, you can do this. Think back to when you started, where did the motivation come from. Get it back.
Slip: We have Victoria Day tomorrow. The school year end is in sight! 5 more weeks for me! I am sure it will go by fast. Jenny: I am running by myself. There are no new running groups here, small town problem. Lol. Sorry about your son, hope he is better soon. How is the weekend, still on track? My weekend of camping has been fun and successful, so far. Have planned ahead, restrained on many occasions and feeling very good about my choices. 2 more days to get thru and then back into routine at home. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. |
Want2b, I looked up your day off prior to your answer. I teach about Queen Victoria, but did not know she had her own day.
My weekend has been so-so, too much vino to be considered good. Food has been okay though. Tons of outdoor work done and my body is sore! Hope you are having a great weekend. |
Hi,
Slip- the final countdown is on! It seems doable when you think 25 days. I'm hoping my summer is a little slower. Want2be - good for your for running on your own. That takes a lot of determination. It's the end of the long weekend for me, the weather cooperated and it was great up North with the kids. They went in the lake! I think this is the earliest dip for them ever. We all got treated for pin worms and have to take one more pill in two weeks so feeling calmer about that. Did P1 but had 2 cones, a s'more, and a few extra snacks. Avoiding the scale but in my head I know it's P1 this week. I would like to be in my range for my sister wedding in 2 weeks. |
Hi everyone,
Is it Friday yet? Long week here. Hope your week is better. |
I hear you Slip. For a short week for us it feels like a long one! We usually hit a peak around now with kids feeling the pressure of the end of the school year and exams. It can be a trigger for mental health issues.
I want to try to have a really successful eating weekend and not go off my plan. Thankfully we have nothing planned so that will make it easier and I will just have to plan my day and stick to it. Will be motivated by the dress I have to wear next Saturday for my sister's wedding. I figured I will post my goal to hold myself accountable. Hi to everyone! |
Today's my day for a bone density scan... our local Pharmasave has a clinic on and we can get it done for a minimum $10 donation to the local Women's shelter cash or needed goods like soaps, clothing, lotions, toiletries, etc. Last year when I had it done I was at a healthy 25 y.o. level - pretty good for a 50 year old. We'll see what it stands at this year.
I need to get into the 'garden' (and I use the term VERY loosely) and get at the rhubarb before they take over my whole backyard. 3 monster plants that supply us and friends for the spring season plus frozen for 'fresh' fruit in the middle of winter, when we are sick of apples, oranges, and bananas. If you squintch up your eyes a little, this broccoli :broc: is actually going to look like dancing rhubarb, lol. Liana |
Slip: It is almost Friday, are you hanging in there? This time of year seems to be the busiest with the kids activities, but the end is in site.
Jenny: Focus and stick to your plan, you can do this! Liana: How was the bone density scan? Are your bones only 25yo this year? LOL. I am doing well eating wise and exercising. Spin class is done so I am trying to run 3 times a week, plus playing ball 2 nights a week. My brain seems to be back in the game so the food is easier too. Funny how that is. LOL. Another camping weekend for us, so I will need to plan the food ahead of time and stick to it. Last weekend I was complaining to DH that a couple of years ago we would have picked up an unhealthy dinner on the road on Friday night instead of cooking when we got camp set up. He told me this way was much better for us. So glad he is doing this with me, I would probably have gone back to old eating habits by now. Yikes. Hope all the friends that were struggling are doing well. |

Actually Want2b: I had extremely good news from the bone density scan - last year I was 25, this year I am 20!!! Not too shabby, if I say so myself. The pharmacist that was evaluating results thought I was a runner, lol. I just told her that I exercise in water a lot and that is quite a bit of resistance which strengthens the bones by stressors from the muscles.
Well I sure as heck won't be that little old lady who falls & breaks her hip unless I get run down and hit by a Freightliner. We had a lovely get together with local RCMP and the rest of the Citizens' Patrol tonight and our guest speaker was the Commissioner for the RCMP in Canada. She has retired to our area and what a lovely woman she is with a great outlook & sense of humour. A wonderful speaker full of interesting and funny anecdotes on her 40 years in the force. She was in the very first class of women who graduated to become RCMP officers in 1974. http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/women-femmes/busson-eng.htm Goodies were brought to eat and I contributed stuff I knew I could have, cheese, pepperoni, homemade Greek yogourt dips, fresh veggies, pickles etc. So I had 'dinner' there which worked out well and DH brought home chocolate cake from one of the other contributors (for his lunch & snack tomorrow.) Happy Friday all!
I've been plugging away. I keep reading your posts, keeps me motivated! I am 5lbs above my scream weight right now. I'm working at getting that off then another 5-8lbs. It's been a good week of watching what I'm eating and getting my water in. My goal is to feel good in my clothes in a month and be closer to my low range. It's one day at a time. I've been working a lot in the yard these days so my regular exercise is not happening but I'm still working my muscles and moving. We have been getting some beautiful warm weather. I am loving it. Enjoy your weekend! |
Hi everyone,
Sorry I've been such a stranger. I check in quite a bit but haven't had anything to share lately. I got my husband doing Phase 3 this week and he's already down 8.2 lbs in 6 days. He only has about 15-20 lbs to lose. He is already trying to negotiate his way out of continuing. He's going to get a smack. I've still got a few up lbs to get rid of. TOM is close so my body isn't wanting to let go of it too quickly. Hoping to get out for a run today. Stay strong! S. |
Liana - love that you have the bones of a 20 yr.mold are getting younger each time you do these tests. I would say huge NSV:). Lol at your comment about getting hit by a frightlinner. Sounds like a great night on Friday listening to the woman RCMP officer. I would imagine she had some interesting stories.
Hawaii - way to go! So close to your goal. Keep it up you are doing amazing. Steph - that is great your DH is doing P3 I wish mine would. In the past when we would diet together he would lose weight faster and it would drive me crazy. Keep him on track. Did you get your run in? Want2be- how was camping? Good for you guys to camp healthy and recognize how different things are this year. I struggled a bit this weekend with sugar, PMSing, but back on track as of yesterday. Slip - how was your weekend? Did you have a chance to relax? I'm doing P1 this week so I fit into the dress I bought for my sister's wedding this Saturday. Some difficulty closing and the boobs are a little swollen cuz of TOM. I want to loose 3lb, the inches were the same as when I bought the dress so I know I'll be fine. At my wi Friday I was still 1 up from top end which is 162. I have my motivation so I know I can do this and will take it one day at a time. |
Jenny; Thanks for the encouragement! I'm still plugging along. With the very warm weather comes retaining water so am still sitting at about 5lbs above my scream weight but I know that if I got rid of some water retention, it'd be a couple more lbs off. I need to get back at exercising. It sounds like you are doing great and on top of things. I'm sure you will look amazing in that dress at your sisters wedding. I'd love to see a pic!
Steph; How nice to have your hubby eating healthy too. Last year at this time, me and my hubby were both being pretty strict but this year hasn't been as good. He has put on some of last years weight that he lost and I have as well. We need to get back on track. Its great to work together. Slip: Where are you these days? Missing your posts but know that you are probably exhausted with end of the year teaching events. Liana: It's always great to read your posts and see how you are doing. You are looking great in your picture! Want2B: I am so motivated to read of all your exercise! I need to get back at it! Hi to Lucci and Kooki and all that read this thread. I'm still trying to get these up lbs off. I feel like I just lost motivation but I'm determined to get back into the groove and keep setting little goals for myself everyday. I am also determined to get this weight off. Thanks for all the positive posts and it's great to know that I'm not alone as we continue on this journey of maintenance. Have a great day! |
Liana: My gosh women, you keep getting younger! Good for you. You know you are doing something right. Keep it up. Love the pic!
Steph: Glad to "see" you here. How is the new business going? Keep DH on track! Jenny: Camping was good. It must be my week to PMS, can't seem to avoid sugar and treats this week. Grrr! Have fun at the wedding. Post a pic. Hawaii: You are right, you are not alone. I am right here with you, with some of my own up pounds. Frustrating but keep trying to get them off. Think of how far you have come and how much you have changed. You can do this. Slip: Where are you? Hope your absence means you are too busy to post. Keep your head up, the school end is near. Vacation is around the corner! It is PMS week for me. Feeling sluggish(the rain doesn't help) and eating things I shouldn't. I will keep going and get thru this week. |
Hi y'all,
I am here. I just get tired of saying the same thing. I had a great weekend! Dinner with my niece (she had her wedding make up trial and wanted to show it off), New York Botanical Garden on Sat, gardening all day Sun.-Monday and then lobster dinner at my neighbors to end the weekend. Not a good food weekend, but a good day today. Just trying to get through the next 19 school days. Field trip to the Renaissance Faire on Fri. Busy, busy, busy... |
