So much to eat
Does anyone else have trouble eating all the food we're supposed to eat each day plus three IP packets? I'm on day 5 and I find that I'm just not all that hungry at times. I'm down 7 .4 pounds and I'm ecstatic about that. I'm just concerned that not always eating everything I'm supposed to at times will hinder my weight loss in the long run. I'm about 250 miles away from home till after Memorial Day and my coach is on vacation. Anyone have any input, I would appreciate it.

I don't know what the official word is about not wanting to eat, but I have had the same problem. I don't worry about it for a day or two (and i tend to have a hungry day after a less than normal food day). But yes overall I think we should make every effort to eat what we are supposed to. I can only imagine if my body gets used to eating even less than 800-900 calories :yikes:
Also I track everything and the days with little food tend to be very lacking nutritionally. Some ideas: the RTD/shakes seem way less filling to me. You can add a cup or two of spinach to them and that's part of your veggie requirement already without even noticing. The bars for the most part are not filling at all for me. I save that for the end of the day and usually I can manage to get excited about eating that, when I might not have been excited about another packet. Make extras of some vegetable or protein that is particularly tasty to you - for example the other day I was feeling lazy and not enthusiastic about eating and I remembered I had some delicious leftover sauteed kale. Score! I had that and an emergency stash veggie burger and dinner was done. That's all I've got. Maybe post in the main chat thread where the people are who have more experience. I think this phase passes once our bodies adjust... |
I started on Friday 5/15. I am surprised that so far it's been pretty easy. Have 2 camping trips coming up, so that will be a test.

I wish I had the same problem of not wanting to eat everything... I can't seem to stay 100% on protocol and have been struggling with it since the 1st of the month :( I've been restarting for the billionth time since being introduced to the program in February  Best of luch to you! |

passed the test
Today I passed what I think, for me, is the ultimate test. Being from south Louisiana, we love our seafood. We've been camping for the past week and today I cooked white beans and rice for our neighbor, and he fried some fresh bass, corn fritters and French fries. While he and my husband ate their fill, I sat and ate a couple of pan seared chicken tenders and a large tomato, cucumber and sweet onion salad. Normally I would fix myself a plate full and then some. It all looked good, and I'll admit I was slightly tempted, but I've lost 9.8 pounds in 9 days, and if I had given in, it would have been so much harder to get back on program. When I began this journey to health, I made a commitment to never stray from the protocol, so I'm feeling pretty stoked right now. I think I'll just give myself an imaginary pat an the back and look forward to seeing my numbers go down on the scale tomorrow morning. :-)

That's awesome! I am so proud of you!!! Now, if only I could get back on the wagon and follow protocol already :( |
That's OK 1tubbychick... just think about this immediate moment and tell yourself you WILL stay on plan for this meal...then next meal, same thing. It can seem overwhelming and even discouraging if you look at the road ahead and feel like 'oh well, a bit more (or extra) whatever won't matter, I have so far to go.' :halfempty
Just work on the moment! You can do it, one moment at a time! Then celebrate being strong at that moment. Think of each moment you are on plan as a victory! :flow2: WTG Leisure Granny! Doesn't it feel good? Liana |

Leisure Granny - you are impressive!! Can you get some of that bass before it is battered and fried? Quote:
Also this one is pretty good. Luckily it takes more than a few days with low calories to cause any major metabolic shifts. I am having the same problem of not wanting to eat much for three weeks now and I have been losing steadily - so far. I totally agree that many people have had increases in weight loss when they increased their calories! Mystifying but it works for many. One of my biggest fears is to get my body used to very, very low calories. Fingers crossed that phasing off properly is going to allow the intake of a normal amount of food. Scary to think about, but I began this journey with the end in sight so I have to figure out to keep myself healthy in the long-term. All that being said, yes we should all follow the protocol. I'm not off plan but I often diverge from my planned meals or just don't eat them. Time to go :hungry: MORE |

My go-tos when camping (assuming there is a cooler, not backpacking, which requires a lot more planning) : RTDs for breakfast, a non-melting type bar for a snack, some kind of nonrestricted crispy chip/puff type thing for lunch with cut up veggies and dinner is easy, just a protein and veggies on the grill. Peppers, summer squashes, celery, cauliflower and broccoli all travel well. IP/alternative oatmeals are also easy to use since they just mix with boiled water (though ICKY cleanup). Have fun!! |
Down 1 more lb this week, one lb closer to goal!
Wishing I could lose faster but can't possibly think of eating less than I eat now:?: |
ended week 2 with a 5 lb weight loss. Switching to night shift tonight, already hungry enough to eat a table. Hunger hasn't been too much of a problem for me, but I'm hoping that adjusting to the shift won't have me feeling like this all the time :(

I started on 5/14 and had my first weigh-in yesterday. I am down 11.1 lbs and very happy and optimistic about this diet.
|
So excited. Tomorrow is day 21 and I'm down 19 pounds!
The pants that I'd been wearing are too big. I'm wearing 16s! My face is thinner!! Best diet ever! I did have a craving for a glass of wine tonight, but I didn't touch it! It was less a craving and more an..."Boy I could use a glass of wine after this day" I am learning a lot about the dumb choices I've made in the past in regard to eating. I know I eat when I'm upset at someone. I think I would much rather look hot and outlive them! |
