This is true for any diet if people don't have some knowledge about what they are doing...INCLUDING the unhealthy diets that make us fat!

[QUOTE=lisa32989;5140806]Dangerous? Seriously?
Sounds like an attempt at marketing thru scare tactics. It's not like this is a truly "medically monitored" program anyway. Most coaches are lay people.

IP DOES limit sales to clinics and coaches aren't supposed to discount. Otherwise clinics wouldn't be able to compete with ...

Yes that was my thought too!

The coach part makes sense as they make commissions on the products sold - but I agree with Lisa that it sounds like scare tactics - unfortunate.

I had a funny conversation with my 20 yr old son who was telling me he should be my coach because he would really lay it on the line if I was cheating etc. and my 22 yr old daughter said he might be out of a job pretty quick! He said " oh yeah, no I would say 'mom you are doing great see you next week' just to keep that paycheque coming in! And for all her referrals!" Sometimes I wonder...😄

P2 or P3 better on vacation?

I'm at the point where I can move on to Phase 2 (and in fact am way too full from my first P2 lunch today - bleh). However, we are going on spring break vacation in exactly two weeks. Having spent a lot of time now on these threads researching P3 breakfasts and how much more complicated things seem to get in P3, I am a little concerned that it will be too hard to be in my first week of P3 while on vacation (even though we will have a kitchenette where I can make my own breakfasts, etc.)

Can anyone with experience "weigh in" on whether it just makes more sense to push things back a week so that I start P2 next week and then P3 after getting home from vacation? Or am I just overcomplicating P3 in my head and being a ninny?

Down 3.8lbs this morning for a total of 96.8lbs and 53in lost. My coach wrapped her tape measure around me and held her tape measure to my original starting inches for my bust, hourglass and hips. I just cannot get over how big I was. What a shocker! I have an original pair of jeans that I’ve held onto. I am thinking I should try them on to see how they look.

Funny, I am still big in my mind…but not that big. Although I was always thinner in my head (you know when you would catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and were shocked at how large you were?).

Without thinking, I drove to Lane Bryant this weekend to buy some new bras. The salesperson was very kind and measured me for my new size. She asked if I had lost a large amount of weight and then referred me to another shop that carried my size. I have shrunk out of everything in that store. That’s a good thing but weird. I’ve been shopping there for years. I actually think I was thin shamed by a couple shoppers who looked annoyed and gave me the stink eye. Why would I be in “their” store taking up their salesperson’s time when I didn’t belong there. I have been shunned from my people.

On a brighter note, I went down the street and found 2 new bras and a swimsuit….in a size 12. WTH!?! Me in a 12. Me in a swimsuit. My thighs look horrible but I was able to find a suit with a skirt that partially hid the sagging.

On the plus, once I got my new bras several items in my closet I’ve been waiting to shrink into fit. I was so excited, I was convinced I would be inches smaller when I was measured this morning. I was actually the same measurement, just higher I guess. Walking around with a new found confidence today. Who knew a bra could do that to a girl?

Congrats CenTXChk!! Haha, thin shamed. I guess there is such a thing! Gotta love what a new bra can do!! I just got a few new bras last weekend and my girls looked so much better, and I felt way better! Keep walking around with that confidence, you deserve it, you've done so well and you're so inspiring!

Haha, thin-shamed.... yes, I had that experience as well. Before I gained my weight (at the same lbs as now), I walked into a Pennington's (similar 'larger ladies' store in Canada) to buy a gorgeous hat that I saw in the window for an upcoming wedding. I also got the stink-eye from a couple customers and even a salesperson. Discrimination is bad in both directions. I bought the hat anyway, because it was awesome.
I was tempted to stick my tongue out at them all though! :p

I love your anecdotes of the CenTxChk takes on skinniness!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

So glad you found swimsuit, got some new homes for 'the girls', and found the value of a good foundation when it comes to fitting into certain styles!!!

3.8lbs!!!!! Fabulous!!!!

Am I allowed to be jealous!? 😉 good work!

Good morning. Had weigh in yesterday. Down 4 lbs. So glad to see the scale move this week. I was glad to see the thread last week about exercising. I started back a couple weeks ago. One thing I have noticed though is that my energy levels are through the roof. The diet alone has given me back energy I had been lacking but it seems that adding in the exercise has increased my energy levels even more. Has anyone else experienced this? I have noticed though that I am sleeping around 5 or 6 hours and then am wide awake ready to go.
Great job CentralTXchk. It is so exciting to go shopping and buy smaller sizes.
Hope everyone has a great OP day.

CenTXChk, Love it! Looking forward to some thin shamed days ahead. Congrats on your loss!

Ro22 03-10-2015 09:12 AM

I thought I would chime in on yesterday's conversation around monitoring and who can administer, dangerous, etc.

Here is an excerpt from an email exchange with my coach - I find this interesting because at no point in 7 months prior was this shared with me. It only came out after I questioned the medical supervision after reporting significant changes in energy with light-headedness and constant headaches.

I find it funny because at no time did anyone ever say, "let's have a closer look". It was always drink the water and take the supplements, etc which I told him I was doing. And, it was always keep doing Phase 1. So, if what he writes is true, then perhaps too much onus is on the improperly trained coach to know when to leverage these resources??? So, know this is what is told to the coaches so if you need additional help, ask your coach to consult the doctor whose office this is being performed from or from the panel they have access to.

"This program can only be conducted out of a Dr. Office. Every dieter is screened by the Dr.s protocol. Not to mention a science board I have at my disposal(panel of Dr.s) From start to finish there are people behind the scenes who have a hand in this."

winewanderer 03-10-2015 09:26 AM

Ro22 -- Even that statement is incorrect! The program can be, and clearly is, conducted out of places other than doctor's offices. My clinic is more of a spa (offers massages, facials, laser hair removal...) however, the coaches are nurses. Not a doctor in sight!
