Default Post your health or bloodwork improvements while being on IP

Fasting Blood Sugar Readings at various weights:
(Healthy is 99 or below)

326 pounds (09/2014) = 148
317 pounds (10/2014) = 144
301 pounds (11/2014) = 126
292 pounds (12/2014) = 119
280 pounds (01/2015) = 116
257 pounds (02/2015) = 99 YAYYYY!!!!

My fasting blood sugar issues are clearly weight related. Getting my weight into the 250’s has put me in the normal/healthy fasting blood sugar range!

My results are from last year to this year after 6 months on IP. Last year's weight: 234, this year's weight 180.

I have good genetics. Even at my higher weight, my numbers weren't bad. Now they are much better. Every result for all tests was within the normal range. Here are a few; first result is 1/2014, second is from 1/2015.

Glucose: 91>85
Cholesterol: 176>154
HDL: (Good cholesterol) 46>56
Triglycerides: 157>79

FYI: My potassium level is normal taking supplements and using IP salt. My blood pressure and my heart rate were also lower.

Haven't had blood tests in nearly 5 years. Got a doc's appt for them next week though.

Like L2W, I am also blessed with good genes and have never had abnormal results despite being morbidly obese for 20+ years.

I do know that my resting heart rate is dropping though, and that's a good sign. BP has been at 110/65 since I was 16 and is holding steady.

So glad to hear that IP is making you healthy as well as losing the weight. So much for all the naysaying about how it's not real food and isn't healthy for you to be on. It's definitely working to your advantage, Alexandra.

L2W - your numbers are great, keep up the excellent work!

Blood sugar before 260 with 1500 mg metformin, blood sugar now 90-110, no metformin.

Weight before 204 now 153. In maintenance.
Cholesterol before 219 now 199.
Triglycerides before 299 now 121.

Energy level before:could barely make it through the day, slept in until last minute possible, couch potato at night.

Energy level now: get up earlier, work all day, workout 1-1.5 hours per night, seem to require much less sleep.

Slipfree, amazingly great blood pressure results. It's interesting how extra weight affects us all in different ways.

Kristen135, truly incredible, losing 60 pounds has cured your diabetes. I love your cholesterol and triglyceride improvements as well. I am hoping for similar improvements in that area when I get my next major blood workup.

I don't have the exact numbers from my last round of BW. I was diabetic on 1500mg of metformin a day and took high cholesterol med and kidney meds (for the long term use of metformin).

After my last appnt I was taken off all 3 Rx meds. The only pills I take now are IP vitamins!
