Scorbett, pebbles, and jmwkst- congrats on the losses!! :-)

I'm having a friend over for lunch... Making ideal protein friendly Carne bistec (will leave out the cooked onions- but curious how bad it is to have a few pieces?) she asked if I wanted her to bring wine. Lord knows I love some 11am wine drinking when the kiddo is at school, but I told her I couldn't :-( I think I actually heard my heart break a little. But it should be fun! I'll make her some rice, and some roasted broccoli for us both.

I also have another social obligation this evening- I play monthly pokeno, it's like bingo. You bring cash and a gift, and you can win gifts and or money. But there's usually lots of drinking, and lots of food. So I'm bringing the veggie tray. May be a kind of challenging day, but at least one of my best winefriends (yep, that's a word) is pregnant and has to be miserable watching people drink with me lol.

You're doing great! It's the carmelizing on the onions that increases the sugar content, I've read that 'sweated' onions (slightly cooked but not until browned) are fine....but that may be subject for debate. My advice, you are working so hard to stay on-plan, why tempt yourself even with a little? The more you resist, the easier to resist.

I used to play "Bunko" which was just a big mom party with junk food and wine! I miss my old Bunko group. My advice is to eat your BIG DINNER before you go to the the party, so you're not hungry. Great idea to bring a veggie tray. Bring some carb-free seltzer water and a little Mio flavoring and create sparkling drinks for you and your pregnant friend. THere is plenty fun looking at other's acting a fool AND you won't have a pesky hangover. Oh and save your restricted and break it out when the desserts start....I always felt better eating one of my delicious bars when other's were having their sweets.

Planning is the key! Make sure your friends know you intend to stay on-plan and you don't want them to tempt you!!

Great ideas! Thank you :-) we do bunco here too, I'm on a substitute list for a group! It also helps that pokeno is at my best friends house tonight... And she also happens to be my IP Coach!

Good Morning IPers!!

I had my WI this morning and I'm down another 2.2 lbs!! I BROKE INTO THE 150s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 159 on the dot! I'm ecstatic. Plus, I am under 30 inches on my waist and broke under 40 inches on my hips. I'm also in the middle of TOM so I was so happy to see a loss on the scale this week since it's only my 3rd day in! YAYYYY! :carrot: :carrot:

I hope everyone is having a great day! This just keeps my motivation going even stronger!

Yep, what Evemomma said - sparkling water or club soda with Mio is your friend for a "cocktail." I do this sometimes in the evenings as a substitute for happy hour!

WTG on all the losses y'all!! :D

I hope so. I've sat in the 160s since my WI on 8/1. I was looking back through my WI's with my coach and I dropped 5lbs to drop into the 160s and then trucked along in there until this week where I saw that beautiful 159 on the scale.

Today marked my 3 month mark and I'm at a 33 lb loss so averaging about to 11 lbs a month. I was hoping to phase off by November but will just be happy to phase off by the end of the year. New Year's Resolution will be to focus on maintenance. This will be the first time in forever I'll be going into a new year at a happy, healthy weight in a really long time.

Congrats on the losses everyone!!!!! :carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

Glad today is Friday. My dad gets his test results today, they found a mass on his bladder, praying for a good report!! I'm staying positive.

I averaged about 10 lbs a month loss...actually a little less than that. It slowed down for me especially the last ten pounds. I think it's helpful not to make a certain date to expect....you attitude of starting the new year at a healthy weight is great.

Yeah, when my losses were showing 5 lbs here and there I was thinking I may could hit goal by November but things have slowed a bit which is okay. The weight is still coming off. Congratulations on making it to maintenance!! You have such a great mentality!

Scorbett - I love my WI's being on Friday morning! Always a great way to start the weekend and motivation to stay OP!

TXWineo: Sweated onions are the trick alright. I really hate raw onions unless they have been soaked after chopping to get rid of the harshness. Otherwise the WHOLE MEAL tastes only of raw onions to me. If you want to cook your onions more, use the white part of the green onion, as I used that almost exclusively in my stirfrys and other cooked dishes in P1 as a sub for regular cooked onions and it worked great.

Congrats to all the NSV's and weight losses - you guys are AWESOME!

This weekend will be my first weekend travelling on IP. I'm going to my brother's football game in Mobile, Alabama. Making the drive over tonight and spending the day there tomorrow and coming home tomorrow night.

I packed my foods. I'll have my RTD Vanilla mixed with coffee over ice at the hotel in the morning. I have some Quest Chips to bring with me to the tailgating and I'm shoving a Quest Bar in my bra (since we aren't allowed to bring any type of food into the game). I'm throwing a Peach/Mango drink packet in my purse to mix with some water during the game if I feel like I need an extra packet due to being out in the heat all day and a lot of walking is going to be involved - not planning to use it but just in case, I don't want to be stuck and famished. We made reservations at Ruth's Chris for dinner and I'm getting the Filet and Sautéed Mushrooms and just asking that they use no butter and only olive oil. I think I have it planned out to work but we will see how it goes!
