Cool Green Smoothie recipe Anyone?

I am having soooo much trouble getting all those veggies down and I need help. I used to make a green smoothie every morning with 2 cups spinach, 1/2 banana, 1 cup frozen strawberries and 1 cup almond milk. Yum.

Anyone doing something IP similar?

I totally understand, about getting all the veggies down, and since fruits are not allowed on IP, I use the ready-made mango drink or ready made strawberry banana drink in lieu of real fruits to blend with my spinach. I also would add one or more of the following a stick of celery, cucumber, ginger, mint leaves, parsley, depending what I have. I also blend everything with ice.

The ready-made drink does wonders. Hope this helps.

spinach in my morning smoothie
pureed veggies in a lunch soup.

You WILL find that tastes change. I now have to LIMIT my veggies to the 4 cups/day.

Lots of puree recipes in the Fun with Veggie Purees thread (link to it found in the first post of the Daily thread)

I love my veggies too. It does take awhile to get used to it, but I treat the veggies as the main dish, giving it more attention to the meat. Then I add the meat to them.

I love to roast the veggies too. Yum. toss with Olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder and sea salt. Maybe some herbs. Too good.

I also like to put a bunch of veggies in my pressure cooker, and get them pretty mushy. Then I add them to soup mix with a little water. You can make that thin or thick. I like mine very thick.

I also like to do spinach smoothies with some sugar free syrup, especially raspberry. I mix in a vanilla shake mix with it.

I also add mushrooms, zucchini, and other veggies to the omletts. Cook them up good then add the omelet. Mushrooms are my favorite in the omlets.

I blend two cups of spinach into my EAS chocolate shake every morning. I really don't taste them. I'm going to try the cauliflower purée this week in a soup to see if I can do that. I have a hard time with the veggies as well.

Lisa32989 shares these (and many other really good recipe links) in this link in the opening post of every IP daily chat thread.
Fun with Veggie Purees!

These veggie purees come from LizRR (Thank you Liz... I am new since you were here!)

So far my favourite is the asparagus puree.

Be sure to explore all the links in that daily chat openning post. There is a ton of excellent information.

It really helped get me going.

And I give thanks!

If you are referring to the first post in this thread, you are right. Only the spinach is on protocol.

I make 'green smoothie' using the spinach plus an IP chocolate or vanilla rtd. I add a bit of stevia, some ice cubes made of coffee, and pinches of ground cayenne pepper, ginger, tumeric or sometimes now some pumpkin pie spice. I usually add some water. Sometimes, I'll add some chilled coffee instead.

I need the stevia to cope with the zing of the spice. I really like the zing of the spice! And I have read ... anecdotally... that these spices help get the burn going.

I have read that some ipeeps use the pudding packets instead of the rtd. I've tried this with the butterscotch. It gives a different and really nice flavour.

Since they are not allowed on our eating plan, you might find more responses posting in other forums... Though some people here may in fact know about them and may respond.
