I love this thread! Here are a few of mine:

After I lose weight, I will...

- Not have to mentally assess the width and weight limits of every chair I see and wonder if I will fit in it or if I will just embarrass myself when I can't fit
- Not have to stand awkwardly in a room full of empty chairs and pretend that I don't want to sit down when really I'm just afraid that I won't fit in the chair
- Be willing to take a full body picture with my normal weight friends and not worry about how big I look next to them
- Be able to find clothes in just about any store I see instead of ordering most of mine out of a special catalog
- Not be embarrassed to walk with my kids at school because I don't want their peers teasing them about having a fat mom
- Be able to ride all the water slides and roller coasters without having to tell my kids that I can't because I either can't fit in the seat or I'm over the posted weight limit
- Be able to walk around the pool in a bathing suit without feeling like the biggest person there and wondering if anyone is taking pictures to post online to make fun of my size
- Not dread going to the doctor because I know that no matter why I'm there, the discussion will always lead back to my weight
- Be confident that I will be able to be there for my kids and not worry that I could die at any moment due to weight-related issues
- Not have to hear people's condescending "but you have such a pretty face" backhanded comments
- Finally be able to know what it feels like to be a "normal" weight
- Not have to politely listen to unsolicited comments from strangers about what someone they know did to lose weight
- Not be afraid to attend reunions because I don't want my old classmates or work friends to know that I'm still fat
- Not be afraid to write my real weight on forms because I'm too embarrassed to write the real number down
- Be able to do active hobbies with my friends without wondering if I will be physically able to make it

-Be active with my boys, my husband and son are always:
-hiking somewhere awesome
- riding dirt bikes
-snowboarding
-playing hockey

Also I can't wait for:
-dancing with my friends and not being the fat one
-sex With my hubby, lots of it :o:o
-shopping for clothes I want, by style NOT just what's available in my size

Hiya Kristie.23!! Fellow BC'er here! Are you north of PG? You don't have to get too specific if you don't want to, I understand. Great list; time to join the rest of the family, eh?

Yes I am North of PG, it's pretty isolated and cold up here lol.
As you can see I'm pretty new to this forum, and IP, so still trying to figure out how it all works. Thanks for reaching out, that's pretty awesome!

After I lose weight I will.....feel better about myself! Have more energy! Not go back to my bad habits!

daniela326 02-16-2016 02:28 PM

1. Not complain that I'm fat all the time!
2. Learn to love my body
3. Buy lots of new clothes
4. Take up an active hobby of some kind
5. Not go back to eating the old way

This is a great thread and reminder! I loved reading all these posts. HouTXMomof3 I very much can relate to every single thing you said. It's hard going through life like this and not being able to enjoy simple things. I can't wait to have this behind me!

I have a long way to go, but these are a few of my things I will accomplish one day :)

- Have more energy
- Not have my knees and body protest
- Have more confidence
- Be able to be stylish and dress nice again
- Not being afraid of running into someone I haven't seen since I was thinner
- Being able to go out with hubby and enjoy life
- Not be worried about seating in restaurants and other places I go
- Not feeling like I need to compensate for the weight (being extra nice or funny or smart)
- Be healthy and happy!
- Never go back
- Actually be able to post a success story here. I've been on 3FC for almost 17 years (yikes!!) and never been able to reach or maintain my goal.

Hi everyone,

I'm rebooting so I am going through old posts. WOW! I really like this post! It helps keep my mind focused on what I want in the end - and remember how much I want those things if I get side-tracked.

Here's my list:

--Not being afraid of running into someone I haven't seen since I was thinner
--Go to the water park without feeling self-conscious
--be in front of the camera instead of behind it
--Ride an airplane without feeling I am crowding my seat mate
--Be a good example to my DH so he'll consider modifying his health habits
--Won’t have secret eating
--Will nourish my body with fresh, nutritious foods
--Wear my wedding ring again <------------------------Met goal on 9/14/16!!!!!!!!!!!
--Wear heels!
--No longer aching every time a have a relatively active day.
--Ride a bike
--tie my shoes with ease

I know that I will get a few of these accomplished along the way. And thank you to everyone for sharing!!! I needed this.

I plan to get a tummy tuck. 4 c-sections and 9 and 10 pound kids! Even when I reach my goal, my abs will not ever be ok on their own. I've had this wrinkly pouch since I was 20 and I either was to heavy to fix it or when I was thinner before couldn't afford it. Being at a healthy weight will optimize results. I will be wear a bikini next Summer. Luckily, health wise I was ok even when heavier. I just want to keep it that way!

I began this thread on my first IP journey - I have the same objectives today that I had before - my body is so unwieldy and I feel it more so now, having been 80 lbs down just a year ago.
When I lose these excess pounds I will be able to :
Walk the stairs with more strength and comfort,
Fit into the wonderful wardrobe I acquired in 2015 after success with IP,
Feel good about my body as I take good care of it with smart food choices.

What is in this journey for you?

canadjineh 01-07-2017 11:50 PM

Bumping for a great batch of encouragement and focus!

And I remember this so well!

After I lose weight (once again) I will
...wake up each morning and look in the mirror and be very happy with what I see in the mirror and on the scale.
...fit into those very cute clothes I bought when I lost the weight the first time.
...feel great bounding up the stairs.
...feel healthier and lighter once again.
...feel great and graceful bouncing up and down from the floor.

BUT - I can like myself and feel happy with myself at any weight.
I can enjoy life while on the journey.
I can be kind and help others at any weight.
I can be an effective person at any weight.
I can be healthy and active at any weight.

The weight loss will just make me healthier and feel better!

Great things to aspire to and a terrific attitude!

Some other folks today have reminded me of how glad I will be to sit in a chair and not feel the arms of it squeezing my hips, and how much I wll be glad to get back to walking down the street and not feeing my thighs rubbing against one another - in fact - I will be able to wear shorts with having them creep up into the crotch.... hope this is not TMI, but these are the small joys of everyday life that thin folks just take for granted and people like me have to deal with every day.

Lita2 01-16-2017 06:02 AM

1. Wear jeans again. I refused to buy bigger sizes.
2. Wear my corporate, tailored clothes again. No more flowing skirts. I want to look polished for work.
3. Wear cute, athletic clothes to my children's sporting events.

Yayalaine 01-16-2017 02:06 PM

1. Wear clothes that I really like instead of avoiding the ones that I think are not "fat friendly."
2. Wear shorts outside. EEEEKK! Shocking, I know! Hahaha!
3. I HOPE that I can be more comfortable having my picture taken.
4. Walk up and down stairs without knees and feet hurting.
5. Spend an extra-active day of walking or being on my feet without suffering for it later with body aches and pain.
6. Walk into a crowded restaurant or meeting without feeling self-conscious about my size.
7. Reduce some health risks and maybe reduce or eliminate some medications.
8. Feel more self-confidence and more pride in myself.
