Many people have WI Wednesday. Remember this:

IP43 05-21-2014 07:42 AM

Ooooh ... just saw a good quote somewhere else but it seems a good thought for the day for me:

“If it’s important, you’ll find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse.”

Thanks Lisa! Love this. This is what has happened to me for the last 4 weeks. Because of all the wisdom on this board I know that "only" is a four letter word. :dizzy:

So I'll just keep trucking on and get to my goal. Almost halfway there.

Holy moley whoosh! I had my official WI yesterday at 203.8 and I stepped on the scale today and saw 201.6!!!! And that was AFTER eating breakfast, taking a shower, drinking water, etc. I know the scale fluctuates within hours, but I really hope this holds out!

Perfect quote for today Lisa. I am trying to resist not getting angry at the scale and instead of throwing it I have now resorted to moving it around my bathroom to see where I can get on it and be at my lowest :D
I have to remember it is a journey, not a race and after almost 8months on IP I am going to lose at a slower rate.

Gr8by48 05-21-2014 12:31 PM

Struggling today....

Ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am really struggling today...I am behaving, but it's very very hard today...I wants PIZZA!

(off to make a choc shake)

EDIT: I made it a 1.5 scoop instead of a 1 scoop; also eating a salad & cucs

Protidiet has a pizza and sauce mix that, if I add some lean turkey sausage and peppers to the top, almost satisfies my cravings for yummy, cheesy, fabulous pizza.... I love it and its only 100 calories, 10 net carbs with 15 grams of protein! It has been a diet saver for me because pizza is my number 1, hardest to resist craving! Good luck!!!

I have to share my good news!! Went for a follow up apt. with my dr today, all of my blood work came back and he said that my numbers look really good (imagine what they will be after being on IP for a while!!) my blood pressure has already gone down and he is very excited that I am doing IP. :)

mmjenny 05-21-2014 01:22 PM

I am enjoying reading all of the threads on this forum. I have been a lurker for 3 weeks since starting IP at my doctors suggestion. I have done well following the plan till this last weekend. My son graduated and all of the food selections had already been done. So I added in a lettuce salad and veggie trays but still caved and had macaroni salad and other carbs (yes I had the cake). But I got back on track and today at WI lost .75! Yah. I was so happy!

We are going on vacation this next week (camping) and I already have a plan for my meals and how to stay on track. I will miss WI next week but plan to have a great 2 week weigh in!

Beck Diet Solution Daily tip

May 21, 2014 - Wednesday Sabotage

Sabotaging Thought: I'm exhausted but I'm at work so I can't sleep. I'll eat to give me energy.

Response: Even though I feel exhausted, it doesn’t mean I can’t push through and still get my work done. If I eat every time I feel tired, it’s likely I won’t be able to lose weight. Which would I rather be: Overweight AND tired, or just tired?

Hi and welcome...!!

Black coffee with ice or blended to a frothy icy concoction is fine no matter where you get it.

It is the other stuff that is in the advertised "iced coffee DRINKS"... that are forbidden fruits at this point. Sugar and dairy products are not on plan.. flavorings sometimes are options that might be advertised as "sugar free", but usually the artificial sweeteners used are No-No...and of course the milk or cream that is used to make the coffee into a blended creamy treat...are not a go.. I think you already knew all of that that...

If ice is the only addition, it's not a problem. Anything else...means it is not a 0/0/0 food or drink.

Last summer I would order a black decaf iced coffee...and add a few sprinkles of splenda. Not as tasty as the ones with the syrup etc if that is what you had in mind...but for me, it was doable on a hot day. And really no different than an iced tea that way.

mmjenny 05-21-2014 02:36 PM

I just steamed broccoli in the microwave to eat with the broccoli and cheese soup. It is fantastic. However, apparently the broccoli is VERY pungent and the smell has dissipated throughout my entire office. I am not very popular right now. I cant smell it! I think this will be very funny tomorrow.

catlady1981 05-21-2014 04:16 PM

Sort of an NSV today. I had stopped wearing a particular pair of pants because they made that whoosh whoosh sound, you know the one, where your thighs rub together? I put them on today and "test walked" them at home. They are very loose in the waist but they were quiet!

I love to freeze my coffee into cubes ( I LOVE dark roast very strong coffee) take the cubes toss them in the blender with some café caramel RDS and blend away. Granted it is not a McCafe but it hits the spot!

I got my IP potato puree delivered today. I'm making cauliflower mash tonight because I'm exhausted, but I have a ton of recipes lined up - one of the main ones being the cheesy cauliflower tots! :carrot:

Tomorrow morning I weigh in. I feel like I'm already losing, but I want to see that number. I'm kicking some serious butt. Hope everyone else's weigh ins that happened today or in the next few days are awesome!!

dcs0826 05-21-2014 06:39 PM

Weighed in today...3.5 lbs down! That's a huge loss for me..it makes 20.5 lbs lost in 8 weeks which I'm really happy with. Hope everyone is doing well :)

Kellyc14 05-21-2014 08:06 PM

Old habits die hard. I think I zoned out while cooking dinner tonight, I made meatloaf, wasn't paying attention to what I was doing and put parm cheese in it, so I ate a turkey burger instead and served the meat loaf to the family. Also while making the ketchup/powdered mustard topping I almost licked the spoon, then I almost took a bite of it when it was done. I would have been mad if I unintentionally did that!

It all worked out though bc as I was putting it on the table my DH showed me a news clip showing that there was a recall on beef, not sure where it was, my. Hubby and family still ate the meatloaf but I would not have been able too! Lol

anadan 05-21-2014 08:17 PM

Hi everyone, this is day 3 for me and I have been so extremely tired for the last 2 days. I can't wait for the whoosh of energy that I keep reading about. LOL With Memorial Day weekend coming, I need that whoosh! Hubby will be home for 3 or 4 days so that will make following the protocol more difficult but I WILL persevere.

Lisa: Great quote! I have the tendency to "only" lots of things and I have got to STOP doing that. Thanks for the reminder.

Rayze 05-21-2014 08:24 PM

I just realized I ate 2 restricted s in one day!! What should I expect? Out of ketosis?

miholmes 05-21-2014 08:42 PM

Hello again! Sorry I dropped off the map, but I was working in Pittsburgh at Quilt Market!! So the good news, I packed my ideal protein to take with me. The bad, luggage was delayed for a day...so....I did stray a bit, but not terribly. I had a banquet dinner, (no bread) chicken, but I did however have some potatoes. Anyway, after that little blip I was back on the program.

I also have a food question. Breyers CarbSmart frozen desert. Can it be a really REALLY restricted food? It's 12 grams of carbs, sweetened with Splenda. A friend of me told me about it and thought it should be something I could have.

I decided to ask the much wiser people here. It would be nice to have something that could fill the small 1/2 cup void where ice cream is concerned. :)

Of course the first answer is anything that's not on the P1 sheet needs to be 0/0/0 and that dessert is not.

I looked at the chocolate dessert - it has 90 calories and 50 of those are from fat so i don't think it even fits into the alternative category.

But look in the recipe threads for frozen desserts - I believe there's one made with vanilla pudding and the orange drink, kind of like an orangesicle. that might hit the spot for you.

It is merely a "Whoops!" And highly, highly doubtful it will affect ketosis. You don't want to use that info to make a habit of it. Just make sure to mark your restricteds when you get them or keep them in a separate location so you have to think about them when you get one to eat.

No need to do anything to compensate... Just carry on with your planned eating!

I've done this, but the first time I literally found a dime under one of the nubby leg things, it was jumping around about 50lbs lol so I moved it, now it's created a habit lol

ChipnDip 05-21-2014 09:43 PM

I had a work dinner tonight. I was a little worried. Totally lucked in! Buffet with grilled chicken, allowable veggies (and ones I liked) and salad with dressing on the side. The dessert buffet was on the other side of the room so I didn't even look. I did feel a little piggish trying to get the two cup equivalent of veggies and enough protein on my plate. For the first time EVER I was the last one at the table to finish eating instead of the first.

Another event tomorrow where I won't be so lucky but I will have more running around to do and I could get away without eating and nobody will notice. Then I can eat my own lunch.
