:) thanks!!

Question: is there a different IP protocol for people who are breast feeding?

nolasmurf 12-31-2013 10:40 AM

Is anyone who's working out while on IP do light weights for toning? The ole bat wings are starting to make me a bit unhappy. Looking for suggestions on what to do about them.

I am doing light lifting with 8lbs weights. I have a flippin bat cape I graduated from wings

Slipfree 12-31-2013 11:18 AM

SarahBell, you are too funny :D

Shrinkingsusie, Congrats on your challenge results!

Jendilly, Hope you find something for the choc. Dip. That is why I have not tried it. I have not liked any of the WF products on their own. They are not bad when added to other things, like shakes. The maple syrup is good for cooking too.

Ruth Ann, that is great advice!

Nice quiet plans for NYE. I am lucky to have a restaurant in town with an IP menu, so we are going there for dinner and then a movie. Usually, I am putting on a very fancy dinner for my whole family, but with traveling the past couple of days for a funeral the fam. decided to let me off the hook. I am so grateful for this decision :D!

serlinr 12-31-2013 12:22 PM

We are taking my little boys to see Walking with Dinosaurs. I am a popcorn fanatic. This is going to be tough. So, I'm going to bring a Quest bar and sit away from my kids. (JK)

Circuit training... can't recommend it high enough. After your body adjusts to the low cals of this diet (about 6-8 wks in for most of us) ...

Circuit training works ALL muscle groups...excellent as we lose lbs and need to tone. I started between 2-3 months into the diet. It is NOT rigorous...it is just right when combined with LIGHT cardio. As far as intensity goes.....one can/should ramp it up after the majority of the weight is lost

***It is not only arms that will flap!!!!!

GO FORTH AND ADD THE NEXT PHASE OF LIFESTYE CHANGE!!
Happy New Year!!

Mrs Kathie, lord don't I know! Lol I've got some jiggly thighs going on too! My hunny is a well trained martial artist and at one time worked as a personal trainer. I've given him permission to turn our dining room into a 'gym' since we don't ever use it. We either eat at the kitchen island or in front of the tv when we eat together. Terrible habit I know. But since it's just the two of us....

He's excited about getting new weights that I can use and resistance bands. Hopefully our relationship survives him 'training' me lol!

Lucky YOU!!
LOL...My DH is a PhD molecular biologist...and being married to a scientist has it's challenges also! He was truly a "thermodynamics" guy as it relates to diet/weight loss...but lo and behold...!!! He's now a believer in the low carb lifestyle as the "only way for some of us".... since a year ago!

Happy Healthy New year to you...We are THE SAME HEIGHT I see......Keeping the weight off is a bigger challenge than losing it, I have learned!

:carrot:You may have a real edge living with a trainer!!!

sarahBell 12-31-2013 01:29 PM

I have a bit of a blop of skin onmy tummy that needs to find a new home as well as my poor legs. I swear the trials of losing weight. BUT I do get to carry around a 26lb two year old, a crap load of laundry, shovel snow ect. AND walk on the elliptical now and then. I have the Kinect fitness training game from Nike that I should start again :) OR better yet cross country ski - that I would love to do!

I think Wii fitness may actually have some aerobic and isometrics programs for those of you who are lucky enough to own one...my grandkids have a Wii...but they live a plane ride away from me. (I wanted a redo on my "mi" last week when I was there. In fact. Told 'em to make "my mi" a skinnier version... Which they gladly did!!)

Typically on NYE, we have a 2 day party with friends and kids over. I make a lot of yummy traditional foods that we've been doing for years. Then the next morning (the kids spend the night, the parents come back) my husband makes a huge breakfast, followed by lots more chips and dips and junk while we watch the games. These 2 days have revolved around friends, family...and food. This year, we aren't doing the big party. We have just one family coming over and will be doing light snacks. It feels a little weird, but I know this is best for me and my family is supportive. I'd love to hear some ideas of what I can put out to keep me on plan. This is day 6 for me and I am determined to not cheat.

And today...I had my first IP food that I just couldn't eat. The tomato basil soup. Had to throw it out and drink a RTD chocolate drink instead.

Back on IP

Hi everyone, I'm back on the IP grind as of yesterday, actually alternatives...I lost last year but didn't phase off properly so I have weight that came back but ready to roll again :D. This forum has always been so positive and reinforcing and I appreciate everyone's positive attitudes so here I am :carrot:. Let's lose it in 2014 :grouphug:

Happy New Year 2014 - my fellow IP friends.
My start date was October 30, 2014. I am proud of myself for most of my commitment to IP - especially after Christmas and staying on program for 2014 until I reach goal of 200 lbs. I am determined, and find the posts and supports on 3FC/Ideal Protein very supportive and helpful to read.

My goals for 2014:
1) Plan my meals, mindfully eat to fuel my body.
2) Plan exercise (3 x week minimum)
3) Love myself more.
4) Not be so serious - enjoy life and relationships more.
5) Read a novel a month, read more to my 4 year old twins.

I do a bit of weight lifting with 8lb weights to some arm toning too - I've never been happy with the way mine have looked. Getting a bit better but want to look good in Mexico :)

Go to "User CP", the under "Edit Signature", delete the code for the tracker - usually starts with [URL....] and ends with

I love those, great goals! And 4 year old twins - yikes, makes for a busy mama!

Well, it's the last day of 2013. It's been an interesting year - started it off with finalizing my divorce and ended it with finding myself by losing 65lbs.

On to P3 tomorrow morning - nervous and excited at the same time for the "big breakfast"! Going to the grocery store was interesting after work - got to visit the sections I haven't been in for a while - hello fruit :)

Happy New Year to everyone!

Jo

Hi Finale,
Click menu item "User CP" and select the link "edit signature". Scroll to the bottom where there is an edit box. The ticker script looks like this, delete to remove your ticker.

"[UL="http://www.3fatchicks.com/"] [IG]http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/bar060/slide-but4/lb/195/135/175/.png[/IMG] "

To get a new ticker, there is a hyper link above the signature edit box (at the top of all the rules and directions). It says click here to get a signature.

Happy New Year to all! Looking forward to a great year in which many of us will reach our weight loss goals!

ColoradoCarol 01-01-2014 11:26 AM

Happy New Year. A big shout out to all of my fellow IP'ers. Let's make this a year full of the success we are all working towards - with lifestyle changes and weight loss. For me I am going to focus on reaching my goal, making sure I can maintain it, not falling back into old eating habits and introducing and making exercise part of my life.

Cheers.

Slipfree 01-01-2014 11:45 AM

Sounds like a great plan, ColoradoCarol. I am right there with you. New Year, new physical "us". Thinking a lot about long term changes versus how long until I am done with Phase 1. This is a lifetime commitment to keeping the weight off. Cheers to continuing the journey in 2014

nolasmurf 01-01-2014 11:56 AM

Good Morning all and Happy New Year. I went to bed at 6am and never really slept. Just had a few catnaps. It's gonna be a long day. Have to go with my kiddo to a dance dinner at a Mexican restaurant this evening. Hopefully I can find something to eat that's OP. If not I'll just have water and enjoy the company of my sunshine and her dance team. They will be dancing in the Sugar Bowl halftime show tomorrow. Not sure if they will be on TV or not but I'll be there hosting my casinos suite so I'll get to see her.

Slipfree - I am very concerned/worried that I will fall back into old habits and maintaining loss. I need to start thinking about that now. I am also worried about phases 2-4 - especially 4 as it seems people have difficulty figuring it out. I know it might be early to worry about P4, but that is me. I worry about future issues. I've been called a worrier.

Nolasmurf, good luck. Please let us know how it goes. I love Mexican food but have avoided Mexican restaurants as I am worried they won't have any thing OP.

Congrats to your daughter. She will always remember dancing at the Sugar Bowl.
