Looking forward to decorating for Christmas this weekend with the 4 year old twin boys. I am OP and feeling great! It is cold -15 up here in Manitoba, Canada. Happy Thankgivings to my US friends. Watch out for those crazy Black Friday shoppers!
Happy Friday everyone!
I am off to a happy morning! I don't know WHAT I did differently, but considering I've had two slow weeks of losses, I stepped on the scale this morning, and down 7.4 lbs this week! That means I'm only 10 lbs away from my second mini goal!
Everyone have a great weekend, a gear up for an OP thanksgiving next week!

Yeah but it's supposed to be -4C by Sunday, ha, ha, ha
Deana - that's so awesome!!! WTG!!!
Happy Friday all! Hopefully not a crazy day like the last few have been, that would be nice. Definitely looking forward to this weekend.
Hopefully starting some work on finishing the basement tonight - figuring out framing, etc. Can't wait - built this house 12 years ago and still haven't finished the basement!
Happy Friday IPeeps! I have been sick with a cold for about 11 days now. Thought I was starting to get better but my throat has gotten very sore and swollen again and I still have quite a bad cough. I can't help but think that being on Ideal Protein could be preventing me from getting better. Maybe I am not taking in enough calories to fight this off? How have the rest of you gotten through the cold/flu season?

I make chicken soup with chicken bone broth (known for immune boosting properties)
I roast the chicken first, debone & put the bones in a pot to make the bone broth (for next time. I use the broth in my freezer for "this" batch).
Weigh meat & I then know how many veggies to add for 2c veggies to each serving of meat (since it is cooked, I weigh 5-6 oz)
Veggies: celery, leeks, mushrooms
Flavor with garlic, salt, poultry seasoning
Viruses are known to feed on sugars so you're actually starving the virus eating so low carb.
I also drink LOTS of hot tea made from fresh ginger.
If it is lasting this long & not getting better, are you sure it isn't the flu? You might have what my doc refers to as a "secondary infection". Have you been to the doc?

Haven't been to the doc. I don't think I have strep throat. To see a doc would mean sitting in a crowded walk in clinic full of sick people to possibly hear that what I have is simply viral and to suck it up. Just wanted to get the opinion of some seasoned IP'ers on the matter. I will continue my warm salt water gargles and see how it goes. Thanks for the chicken soup recommendation. I have a freezer full of organic chicken halves so that will be my plan for tomorrow.
