Sriracha???

  • So I see all these Phase 1 recipes that have Sriracha in them? Ingredients are below. Do any of you use it? I am jumping back on phase 1 for a couple days and have a delish chicken recipe that call for it...not much but some. Anyways, any notice in the scale if you do?

  • I think most hot sauces are innocent enough-- I'm not a siracha fan but have use similar products. It's zero fat, zero carb, and practically zero sugar. I doubt five calories is going to move the scale. Just be mindful of your portions.
  • My coach said it would be fine but when I asked her I didn't it had the sugar or I would have stressed that in my questions. Perhaps she didn't know either. Regardless, I am going to give it a shot and see what happens.
  • I use siracha all the time but in such small quantities....a few drops give a kick
  • Anyone else a sriracha fan and seen any negative implications using it occasionally? I used it last night with my chicken, maybe two tsps. at most. Anyways, I use no sweetners, etc. so I figure the 1 sugar is approx. what is in the splendas, etc. and it all washes out in the end.
  • So this is what I do: The same company who makes Sriracha makes another sauce which has the heat but none of the sugar called Sambal Oelek. It's also great to add to just about anything.

i use it once or twice a week in my stir fries and it's not been a problem.
