What is on your thanksgiving menu?
Ok with turkey day approaching fast I thought it would be fun to see who is making and serving what for the biggest over eat day of the year!
For our house: 2 turkeys one will bathe in a brine for 48 hours and the other will have your traditional seasonings on it green bean casserole sweet potatoes w/ marshmellows mashed potatoes with garlic and chives glazed carrots home made bread, dinner rolls, pies AND for ME (and anyone else) cauliflower mashed potatoes with EVOO, roasted garlic and chives steamed green beans with evoo, salt and spices salad So that is it so far what abt you guys? |
This is a great idea! My family cooks a Turducken. For those of you who don't know what that is, ....http://www.cajungrocer.com/fresh-foo...c-1_15_24.html
It's a deboned chicken stuffed into a deboned duck stuffed into a deboned turkey! It's tradition in my family! As for veggies, i'm with you on the caulimash and beans. For dessert, maybe baked rhubarb of sorts OR the pumpkin meringue recipe I saw in the recipe 4 thread! |
Not sure yet who's hosting (it is NOT us), I will stick with sampling the roasted turkey off the table and whatever plain veggies are offered. I may also ask hubby to make roasted cauli mash or maybe some turnip chips.
|
I will also have out a big platter of cheese and crackers, nuts, hummus, babaganoush, raw veggies too :)
|
I mix IP's mushroom soup with less water, combine with green beans then bake in a casserole dish!
