That's an awesome way to look at it airportchick11! $85 is an expensive coke ;)
I know the talk about ketosis but it works for me. If I eat between 800-900 calories a day I stay in ketosis. Anything over and im out. So that's a big motivator for me. As well, I have a bunch of post it notes on my fridge. One pack has days on plan with "treats" every 10 days or so. And one has pounds lost with a "treat" every 10 lbs. "treats" can be anything from a spa day, to new clothes, anything I really want really :) it seems to work cause I get to pull one off every day if I stay on plan I need to just keep telling myself that I am stronger and have more will power then the chocolate bars in my pantry! (I have a hubby and kids who are skinny skinny and wont let me throw them out lol) But I will prove to myself that I can do it! I did it for 5 weeks before and seen amazing results. I can do it again now :) |
Oh! And Congrats on your Weight loss!!

I created a reward list for every 10 lbs. too. None are food related and I can't wait to get all 4 of those items!! |
I must add...both skinny husband AND step-son had their health checks at work. Hubby is now on Lipitor and son is close!
|
My hubby is very active and very healthy. he is a welder, trapper and hunter. On the go 24/7 and hasn't gained weight since high school haha he can eat non-stop and not gain an ounce. Im sure it will catch up to him at some point. He's the type that snacks while waiting for supper to be ready and eats 2 servings of supper. Gotta love them huh? And my girls are only 3 & 6 so they have limited treats a day. But they are both like him. Can eat non-stop and are under weight and above average for height!! Don't know how they both lucked out with daddys genes. Wish I could have gotten a few ;)

Cleaning break, still haven't eaten dinner. One more room to vacuum. Then laundry. I see the end in sight.
Way to go airport chick! Great loss. Welcome Claustin. I love your reward idea. Kelsey, you are giving away 3 pounds- that is a lot. In ten weeks, around the holidays it will be 30 pounds. Mpfskinnyme, those stories are scary! I had already decided that getting kicked out of ketosis was reason enough, but you gave me motivation and an excuse to use with my family. |

Have to ask, why did you have to eat cucumbers to take the Cal-Mag? Is there a reasoning behind this? I was told if I'm really hungry to eat an extra bar. I think that's a dangerous thing to tell me. Then I just start making excuses as to why I can eat different things. I need to be strict to this plan. I've got a friend who eats cheese and drinks one pop a day and has actually found alcohol with no carbs and does that. It's good to read about the no alcohol and why. Will definitely stay away from that. |
Good morning! Off to my second WI in a few minutes, but wanted to stop by to say hi! Had a funny moment this morning with the hubby (well, funny for me at least). He weighed in this morning since I weigh in today...he didn't lose any weight from his weigh in on Saturday. He was crushed. I just laughed. I know if was mean, but now he knows how I feel most of the time. CRUSHED! He couldn't understand how he is eating right and working out yet lost nothing! I am usually in that same boat, so while I sympathize with him, I was actually feeling pretty good at the same time. Maybe now, he can relate to how I feel when I work hard, eat right and the scale doesn't budge.
Will check in later with my results. Have a great day all! |

Here's some positive things to think about if you had a week with a poor weigh in and you feel disappointed you didn't lose more.
1) Think about how you would've been eating if you weren't on plan. Lots of chocolate or chips? Lots of wine? Lots of carbs? You may not of lost much but you saved yourself from gaining anything as well. 2) Focus on overall health. it's hard to know what is going on inside your body. Maybe you're setting yourself up for a big loss next week? Maybe your body is doing some "house cleaning". 3) If you didn't lose, use it as a training experience. Look back at what you had this week. Did you possibly cheat a little and lie to yourself about it? Is there somewhere you could have improved? Motivate yourself to do better, don't belittle yourself and make it worse. 4) Remind yourself what you are doing this for! Even though we all want to lose weight, we probably have vastly different motives. Some of us just want better health, others may want to fit into a certain outfit for a special event, or any other 1000 reasons. Focus on your goals and use this down week to recommit. Even though I just started, I can already see differences in how I look. Look in the mirror and remind yourself you're worth it! :D |

I lost 7 pounds and 2" off my waist!! Pretty happy about that for a first weigh in!! :flow1::hyper::twirly::yes: |
Jig,
Great advice! Lucci and PamperedKate, I'm in Nova too! Maddi, If I were you and wanted to have an extra snack I wouldn't have a bar. Those are restricted and have more carbs. I go with an unrestricted because it fills me up without the extra carbs. Scottysgirl, Glad you're feeling less hungry. |

Good day everyone! Day 2 and going strong :) haven't hit a low patch yet or any side effects but I usually get a headache on day 3, here's to hoping it doesn't happen.
Haven't had any restrictions since starting either which is a huge accomplishment for me. However next week is TOM so it will more than likely change lol I like my sweets and am the type to eat more then one once I start. So I save them till I absolutely need one. Has anyone tried "big Mac in a bowl"? Im tempted to try it but nervous at the same time. Hope everyone has a fantastic op day |

Claustin,
I didn't like the Big Mac in a bowl because the Walden Fatms thousand island had a sickeningly sweet after taste. My husband like it though. He requested it for tonight :) |
Sounds like everyone is doing great! Keep up the good work. Tomorrow is my weigh-in day, fingers crossed.

Great weigh-ins, Pampered Kate and Emsmom97!
Appraisal is done. I am totally exhausted. Parent conferences start tomorrow. Going to bed early, I hope! New starters, sounds like things are moving along. Definitely have sympathy for those of you suffering the headache. It does get better. |
Oh, and good luck tomorrow, Wine4me!
|
I am on day three of IP. Thank goodness for this forum. I will be checking in every day for motivation! Feeling a bit grumpy and brain dead right now but starting to feel better after reading your posts and settling down with my green tea :D
