The first days are the hardest and you should not be weighing yourself. Just let your body adjust, have another packet (unrestricted) if you need it.

the packet drinks really helped tide me over.

how much do you weigh? are you having enough packets a day according to your weight?

And I agree with Sarita: the first days are the hardest.

I know its hard not to weigh yourself, but give it a few days!. Your body need readjustment time. Are you drinking the required amount of water? I pee'd like crazy for the first 5 days. It could just be water retention maybe.

Everyone here gave some great advice. Stay away from the scale I repeat, stay away from the scale.

Thanks for the advice! I weighed today and I am down the 3 pounds. I don't know what is going on! Lol I packed an extra drink packet for work today just in case. I weigh 174lbs. I am trying to lose 30. I am nervous because every time I try to diet, weight watchers included I have gained weight. I am eating a packet for breakfast with coffee, a packet for lunch with lettuce and 2 C of veggies from the list, dinner as stated for phase 1 and a packet for a snack. Does that sound right?

Honey! Fret no more! this diet works! and once your body adjusts like the other ladies said earlier, u wont be able to even eat whats in front of you - trust me! Please hang in there .. pour through the boards like it's a part time job - it will not only give u ideas, but strength and hope as well - the first 3-4 days are hellish at first (depending on the person), but just keep calm and drink your water. if u feel peckish eat some lettuce .. it will trick ur brain .. I Cant wait to see ur weight loss updates on here

SUPER TRUTH to this! It is a key factor in helping your mental state. Don't read about anyone cheating...or not staying OP. Move on to the posts about what is working and read about someone else's success....that will be YOU before you know it.

65X65 has hit the nail on the head - if you want to be successful on this, read what all these lovely people have to say. It is both support AND knowledge strong enough to keep one going. Even if your schedule is super busy, devote 10 minutes to reading what is posted here.

As someone who unknowingly ate things off program when in restaurants last week, I can tell you how going off the program affects weight loss - it can set you back a couple of days or a week. My best recommendation is to stick absolutely to the program, read ideas about eating out, facing challenges like hunger or the "big C" and become well educated on this program. It is so worth it.

I really enjoyed reading this and wanted to thank you for posting such wonderful comments and recommendations around sticking to the positive and OP posts. I have some anxiety about the program not working and then not knowing what I would do next.

Jenny - the program DOES WORK and all the posts from people who have hung in there show that.

So you do not need to worry about what you would do next because that will not come to pass if you just stick with this program.

Now I am going to throw in a word about staying OP in my opinion. There are natural ups and downs with this program as your body changes and adjusts. It can sometimes be mystifying and upsetting UNLESS you know that you have been completely 100% - that way it is easier to shrug it off, guilt free. You will not derail yourself and will have the ability to ride it out, knowing the truth and science of it is behind you.

Just follow your one page P1 bible! This program works!!! We are all living proof of that. Once you get past week 1, it's so much easier. I've been doing this since end of June and it's now second nature. Keep checking here for great recipe ideas!

Water, Water, Water. Then MORE Water, lol. If you are feeling "woozy" add a bit of IP salt to a glass of water and chug it, you'll be amazed. The first week is the worst, but stick it out and you'll see the weight fall off. Oh, and throw away your scale at home. It will only drive you crazy. If you are hungry, remember you can have unlimited lettuce. So bring some with you and munch on it all day. You will be fine.
