my laugh for the morning - My DH has Crohn's Disease and has been on a FODMAPS diet for a few years. (It rids his diet of short chain fermentable carbohydrates, for digestive comfort) and his food lists are always on our frige. I scanned one of his lists this morning (I usually have it down and don't pay much attention).

Here was a partial list from this morning:

VEGETABLES TO AVOID:

Excess Fructose vegetables:
Sugar snap peas

Excess Fructan vegetables:
Artichokes (Globe & Jerusalem)
Asparagus
Beet
Brussel Sprouts
Cabbage
Chicory
Dandelion leaves
Fennel
Garlic
Leek
Legumes
Okra
Onion (brown, white, & Spanish)
Peas
Radicchio lettuce
Shallot
Spring onion (white section).

Excess Polyol vegetables:
Avocado
Cauliflower
Mushrooms
Snow peas

It cracked me up because for a minute I thought *when did I make this IP approved list?*

Our last name should be Pratt, I swear!

I started 9/15

Would like to join this forum, just started, lots of guys in my office, not girls, have lost tons of weight on this program so decided to try it to control my obsessive eating. my therapist recommended Ideal Protein because it's very regimented and has relatively quick results. As a former weight watchers groupy, I need a program that is very structured and one that absolutely works if I stick to it 100%. Nothing more frustrating than sticking to a diet and not losing an ounce after the first 3 weeks.

4th weigh in and another 3 pounds down for a grand total of 17 pounds in 4 weeks. That's the best I have ever done on a diet!! It keeps getting easier for me too. I know what I like now and I get so much support and guidance from these boards! Thanks all!

How long did you cook them for? I have tried zuchinni and turnip chips and they never seem to crisp up, they are still good but not crispy..

Good morning! Last night I was thinking about the changes in my routine that being on IP has created -- all good! I used to come home from work, feed my cats, change into a loose, comfy housedress, then grab a bag of candy (embarrassed to admit it) and sit on my arse munching candy and surfing the internet. If I had an actual dinner, it was usually a salad from a fast food place.

Now I come home, feed the cats, do the dishes from the day before, put away laundry or some other little chore, then start dinner. THEN I go put on my loose comfy housedress! And while the IP food seems pricey, I think I'm spending less money overall since I am not buying candy/ice cream/fast food.

I was in a self-destructive rut as far as food went -- I am very fortunate that I didn't develop any health issues. I like this headspace MUCH better!!

Have a great day, everyone!

I hear ya! I was the same way. I was always so wasted from work I had no energy. Now I get off work and can't seem to sit still whenI get home!

RBG, I can totally relate!! The week before I started IP I needed to clean my house and had absolutely no energy to do it. Now, the house is clean (as clean as it can be with a shedding dog and busy hubby). Yesterday I went to the supermarket after work, got home and made broiled pork chops, roasted chicken, 2 chicken quesadillas for the hubby and separated chicken stock I made in the crock pot. That NEVER would have happened before IP.

In the toaster oven it took about 45 minutes. They werent exactly "crispy" but they did have some crunch and it was the roasted flavor that i think that I liked so much.
