Good morning! I am Georgia and new here. I have been on IP for a month now and lurked here for even longer. So much great info and support.

Question for you, please. My clinic does not carry the crepe packets and there seem to be lots of great bread recipes using it. They do carry pancake mix, can that be subbed with some adjustment, or are they just too different?

Welcome Georgia! I think you can substitute the pancake mix for crepe. There are a lot of bread recipes using the potato puree also. From what I've read those work the best.

Good morning all!! First weigh-in this morning and I am down exactly 8 lbs!! I am so excited!! And a weird NSV; I found my first IP "mystery" bruise on my leg, which to me is a good sign I am in ketosis. I remember how easily I would bruise while on IP before. Can't believe how excited I am to update my signature.

Hope everyone has a great IP day!!!

Morning all!
100 degrees here in NYC, and have to weigh in tonight...praying I don't retain a ton of water when I have to step on that scale!

Tried to make the potato rolls using the potato puree last night... wasn't edible for me I had such high hopes.

Hope everyone is in cooler temps than me today. Have a great one-

Jodi

jodi73, I make the potato rolls, but find that they are better with a dash of salt in the batter. I then make an olive oil, rosemary, and dash of vinegar bread dip, and I am in heaven. I also increase the amount of garlic used, but I am a garlic nut anyways.

I feel for all of you in the 100's, it is that here as well. The only saving grace is that we have dry heat, very little humidity. I can't imagine living through these kinds of temps with high humidity....bleah

I struggle with weighing in everyday. I am still new to IP, Day 12, so I know I wont weigh in everyday forever, but I am addicted to seeing the number get smaller. Even if its .4 pounds like it was today. Still feels nice. Still feels VALIDATING that I am sticking OP and doing something right!

Morning folks,

WI this morning shows a loss of 4.5 pounds. Good-bye 260's hello 250's.

Started phase two on Tuesday and I won't lie that little voice inside my head has been whispering quite loudly that my weight loss is going to stop now - despite logically knowing that it won't. I felt the same way initially about phase one - "this won't work for me". Stupid voice - some times I wish I could give it a good old kick to the marble sack to shut it up.

The thing that I am noticing with phase 2 so far is I actually have to think about what type of protein I will be adding for lunch. Phase 1 was easy - IP chicken soup and 2 cups of sliced cucumbers. No thinking involved. Now I have an extra few steps - deciding and then prepping. That's not a bad thing though, part of my obesity was not thinking about what I was putting in my mouth - mindless eating. Even saying that makes me think I'm making myself sound like a shark - except I didn't have the cool theme music as I circled the potato chip aisle in the grocery store.

Nothing else exciting thus far this week with the exception of my dog. I have a mini dachshund and his preferred method of napping is on my lap. Yesterday he woke himself up with the loudest fart I've ever heard from a dog his size. That was funny in and of itself, what made it even funnier was when he shot me a dirty look like I was the one to let it rip and woke him up.

Have a good week everyone.

I've weighed everyday since I started last year. As long as you can accept the scale will go up sometimes and other times it will be stuck for a while it's ok. If you find that you get discouraged when one of those things happens, put the scale away.

HeatherRedstick Congrats on that fabulous WI!

Spiritman I always love your posts, and this one did not disappoint.

Would it be better to do WI in the morning? I am going for my first today and it isn't until after 5 pm, but I was considering asking my coach if I could come first thing Thursday AM from now on instead. I might be a little later for work, but I think it might be easier in the long run. Has anyone else switched from PM to AM weigh-ins?

I was super tired yesterday and a little hungry due to TOM (I think). Had to snack on some lettuce between breakfast and lunch yesterday and slept for 9 hours last night. Still feeling pretty tired today.

Breakofday71...i'll give your way a try. I had made the rosemary potato rolls that I saw in the recipes thread, but it didn't taste like bread, and it felt very heavy- I almost gave them to my son for his hockey practice. Thanks for the tip

Wow congrats to everyone for the awesome progress! I do weigh myself every day and have for a long time. The difference I am finding on IP is that though I was up .4 the other day, the next day I was down 1.6 lbs. today I was down 2lbs from yesterday for a total of 5.2 so far in week one. I am pretty surprised because I really didn't change my eating all that much so super pleased. Question: could I possibly be in ketones after only 5 days? I did not eat many carbs before IP so it hasn't been a drastic change. Just seems early to be on Ketosis but my mouth tastes like yucky doooo lol.

Spiritman, I had a lovely daschie who used to do the exact same thing lol! Your story made me miss him. Keep up the great work. FWIW, my hubby started phase two and stalled weight loss for about 2 days but now is losing again so no worries :-)

@meinola doesn't really matter what time you weigh in, yes you might see a more amazing # on the scale, but really you're just kinda doing a mind game on yourself to think of the perfect way to get the best number....consistent cloth wearing and routine for WI is really going to give you more accurate #s and do not be thrown off if your numbers aren't as good as you hoped, given its your TOM...

Grats everyone else on their WI losses .....and good luck to the rest of you who will go later today...

ps. coffee is AMAZING! I <3 it
