Default Paleo for Phases 3 & 4?

Hello, I have been lurking on this forum for a while, and it has been incredibly helpful. I am 1 week into phase 2 after a brief, yet successful phase 1 and mentally preparing for phase 3.

Has anyone here moved into Phases 3 & 4 on the paleo diet? The grain and dairy requirements would be in conflict with paleo, though some people do consume dairy on pale.

I would love to hear anyone's experiences/insights into this. I have not yet discussed it with my coach but I plan to in a few days.

Thanks!

I have 4 days left on P3 but I've stuck to the IP program. I am moving to Paleo for P4 though. I don't have a problem giving up dairy and have lived without wheat for 6 months so I don't think it'll be an issue either.

Thanks M3. So in P3 did you have things like sweet potatoes instead of wheat products?

Maybe I will do what you are doing. At least for the 2 weeks of P3 I could see if my body is okay with dairy (I suspect it's not), and then I can drop the dairy in P4 like you are.

Please keep us posted on how Paleo P4 goes for you!

I use coconut meal, almond meal, flax seeds and quinoa instead of wheat
They don't score like wheat does carb/fat-wise but I did my research and made a muffin mix out of all 4 that worked for me!

I used raw goat milk to make yogurt for my breakfast. I'm more primal-leaning than strict paleo but I'm definitely interested in GF.

Oops, it only just occurred to me that I have been consuming both gluten and dairy while on P1/P2, in the form of packets... I feel just fine on P1/P2 (very stable, probably due to blood sugar levels, but not incredibly energetic or vibrant - just steady and good), so maybe gluten and dairy are not real issues for me after all..

Does anyone with gluten or dairy sensitivity have insight into the amounts of gluten and dairy in the packets as compared to regular food? Does an IP packet containing dairy protein mimic the body's response to regular dairy foods? I would guess not due to the absence of the lactose and fat in the IP packets..

I guess the best way to know if gluten and dairy are issues for me is to cut out both (even from the packets), then add back just one at a time in P3. But I would be very interested to hear anyone else's experiences with this.
