Default Day 2, woke up with headache

Took a bit of salt and had my restricted strawberry bar. Helped a lot but worrird about the rest of the day and tomorrow. Keep thinking the end is worth the means ( or however that saying goes).

The end is worth the means! Headaches are expected in the first 1-3 days. For me day 2 was the worst....I felt like I had a really bad hangover. I drank tons of water, added extra salt, and took tylenol. It didn't make me feel completely better, but it definitely helped.

What really helped was understanding why I was feeling that way (my body was depleting its glycogen stores) and knowing that it was temporary. It takes up to 72 hours for glycogen stores to be depleted. In a couple days you will be past this transition stage and will be feeling so much better. Stay strong!

The first week is brutal (makes you think twice before throwing yourself out of ketosis again), but you will get through it! Lots of water, make sure you are getting your potassium and salt and yes, take a tylenol or aspirin if you need it (I certainly did).

This too shall pass!

Headache in the first week can either be not enough salt or carb withdrawal. You addressed the salt issue, so if it continues you know it's just your body coming off the carbs. It will pass!
