Egg Whites

  • I heard that egg whites are a free food, is this true?

Thank in advance for the comments.

I have heard the same thing on threads here... but on my food sheet that I got from my coach, egg whites are considered a protein, not a free food.
  • Yes and no.

TWO egg whites per day are considered a "freebie", having two egg whites meets the 0/0/0 rule at the bottom of your protocol sheet without adding too many calories. But they aren't unlimited - you can use the two per day but no more than that before you have to start counting it as part of your daily protein. Lettuce is the only truly "free" and "unlimited" food.
  • I don't care for eggs in any form, but I did try to make pudding pancakes this morning using my 2 egg whites and my lemon pudding and it really did help my hunger until lunchtime.

I used the powdered egg whites and mix them in my shaker mug.
  • I was wondering too--thanks for asking!
  • What Scorbett says!
  • My couch told me that egg whites are an unrestriced food, and they are on the same sheet in the same column as spinach, lettuce and cucumbers.

My coach said that cucumbers and celery, along with lettuce were the freebies. And dill pickles, as long as they have 0 carbs.
