I am embarrassed to ask this, but have spent the last hour looking...can one of you post the link for the most recent P2 sheet? I thought I had saved it a couple months ago, but apparently not. All the protocol sheets in the stickies are way outdated from what I can tell.

Thank you!

Thank you Southern, but this link takes me to the P1 protocol sheet. What I really need to know is P2 8 oz of lean protein at both lunch & dinner? Or does it drop to 5 oz for each meal?

My clinic does not keep on top of the updates, so can't ask them.

GreenIris, my coach just gave me the P2 sheet and the only difference from the P1 sheet is 8oz of NP for lunch AND dinner. it doesn't state a 5-8 oz. range. It says 8oz!
Enjoy! I'm just a few pounds away from P2!!! Woohoo!!!!!!

Thank you!!! I'm not far from it either, and trying to get 'prepared', both mentally and with food in the freezer. Good luck with the rest of your journey!

Yes - science is fun.

Here is a biology question that has been nagging at me:

If in ketosis my body is using my abundant fat stores for energy - why do I still get hungry?

Good question the answer is that ketosis does not turn off hunger. In some people it blunts hunger but not all people. The two main hormones that control hunger are leptin and ghrelin. Assuming you're following the protocol there isn't much you can do but making sure you get enough sleep is very helpful.

One important note: hunger usually comes in waves. You can learn to ignore it and while it may not go away it will usually diminish. Second thing is keeping yourself busy is very important. Sitting around thinking about food doesn't help. Stay busy and hunger is much easier to ignore.

All the people who say they're never hungry? I envy them. When I did a PSMF I was not hungry for a couple days. After that ... hungry a lot. Learning to ignore it though really helped me learn what real hunger was compared to just the empty stomach feeling. I was still hungry, a lot.
